Hello, I’m Treori and my lil mistress is Freya.

She is a standard black otter rex, just turned 11 weeks old. She has a single floppy ear tip,

I have had her for a week and a half, but it already feels like she has been here forever. She isn’t spayed yet, but I will be booking her appt. with the vet very soon. She is typical of the rex breed, very intellegant, she is very cheeky, I can spot a strong stubborn streak in her as well, but she can be extremly sweet.

I only had one bunny before and when he passed it broke my heart so badly it took me nearly 17 years to get over him and start looking for a new rabbit. I decided I wanted a rex in particular so I have waited a year until I found a good breeder, one I could trust after bombarding the poor man with an absolute ton of quiestions. I do feel totally at sea somtimes though because when I had Magic ‘rabbit care’ was quite a bit different then it is now (rabbits were always fed rabbit musli, having a single rabbit that was kept a tthe bottom of the garden was the norm etc etc). I have a 6 year old son that is going on 67 who Freya seems to have bonded with quite strongly. She follows him about the house and if he sits down within her reach she is aways in his face and trying to lick his hands and getting his attention.

I do still have some questions mainly because of some contradictory advice I ha\ve seen everywhere concerning young and baby rabbits. I look forward to getting to know you guys better

        Freya Chillin.

Thank you very much, I had to edit the post, because the attached pictures didn’t seem to want to show up
I’ve added two now though hehe

                Thank you

As soon as I saw her with her ‘flaw’ I fell in love (the breeder was pleased I liked her because she comes from show stock and he couldn’t sell her to someone wanting a show rabbit, but I was looking specifically for a pet rabbit instead, it was like she was meant for me )

That’s how I got Harley! He is a harlequin bunny and the breeder said he was flawed in size so I was like, that’s alright, I want a pet! And she was quite relieved.

@NewBunnyOwner, that’s the exact same feeling I got from her breeder, that he was relieved I wanted her

Thank you Baxter n Boo and hannaroo

All the bunnies in the pictures are gorgeous BTW

                                 New picture of Freya.
I have never seen another animal sit like this before. I read somewhere that the harder it is for a rabbit to leap up and run away, the more content and relaxed it is.And considering she tucked her front legs underneath, and stretched her back legs out she could barely get up at all.

                                    Thank you.

And really? I had never seen it before lolz. My old rabbit Magic, he used to sunbath but that was about it really (he would escape occasionally, but he was so tame he wouldn’t attempt to escape the garden, instead he would dig a shallow hole, and stretch out in it. That used to amuse my mum a lot haha, and then when he was finished he would go back to his hutch/run)

I work as a volunteer in a charity shop and my boss will usually chuck away anything rattan like baskets and such unless they are extremely exceptional, so I managed to snag her a nice new basket for free. She kept sniffing it yesterday, and trying to look at it (so the whites of the eyes were showing)… made her look completely crazy. This bunny with wild staring eyes sniffing her basket

Just a caution about baskets, you want to make sure they are 100% non-treated before letting bunny chew them.
