In a little less than a month I’m going to visit my mum and my siblings since my mum is graduating from college and my sister is graduating from primary school into secondary… I know that my mum’s house should be fine and safe for the bunny (my brother and sister are 12 and 13 and my mom doesn’t have any pets). However, I’m not sure how travelling with a rabbit would work and how much a rabbit can handle… The cheapest way for me to get there is to take a 3 hours bus ride, a half hour subway ride and a few minute local bus ride then walk for about 10 minutes… However, the more convenient way for me to get there is to take the bus, the subway, then a cab… If that’s too stressful then I could try and find a ride down but it’s still a long ride…

Is it possible to do this? How can I transport my rabbit safely? Can I use a cat carrier of some kind or do I need a special type of carrier?

        Let me know!

Well I guess I would first find out if the bus will allow him on the bus in a carrier and then go from there.

Small cat carriers work perfectly for rabbits. I would definitely find out if they are allowed on the bus and subway. I don’t think a bus or cab would be too stressful for most rabbits, though the sounds and smells of the subway might for a nervous type.

we bought a small dog carrier, she handled the ride quite well but she was kind of stressed about it but it was her first ride in a car.

I put my rabbit’s litter box into a small dog carrier. Lambda really likes having something familiar during the travel, and it keeps him from getting too stressed. It also makes sure he gets lots of hay (which he doesn’t eat anyway ><) on the trip.

I’ll definitely look into travelling via cat carrier… I’m hoping I’ll be able to get a ride down but we shall see… I might just have to leave him home unfortunately :/
