Hey so I’ve had this rabbit for a day and obviously I’m really nervous about it. He has bad eyesight so I try to make sure I’m around him at all times when he’s out of his cage, and even when he is I go and check every now and then to make sure he’s ok.. I’ve figured out that rabbits have really fast breathing but I’m wondering how to tell when his breathing is too fast… Sometimes he breathes faster than others, but it  only seems to slow down when he’s sleeping..

Just some tips would be helpful! Unfortunately the pamphlet the pet store lady gave me when we went to buy his cage and essentials doesn’t cover a lot of these things =/

well I guess you can check youtube videos so you know their breathing rate
it surely slows down when they sleep since they relax
Also a pamphlet surely won’t be enough, http://rabbit.org and binkybunny have enough information!

Info from Medirabbit: the rate of respiration of the rabbit (30 to 60/min). Higher is normal, lower is abnormal.
