Dad and I have been working on the condo design, as well as designing a rabbit cage to sell.  I’m so proud of him. We are planning on having it all be plasic, PVC, and wire for the sides. We discovered these awesome plastic shelving units. We would put something on the bottom, so that the rasbbit doesn’t get sore hocks. And instead of having the one tall thing, we would take it in half, and make it so that the two halves are next ot each other, if you see what I mean. That would make it 9 square feet, because it is 1.5 * 6. Mom expressed corncern about the plastic. Will the plastic affect the rabbit? And another thing- we went to home depot and found an aluminum screen that looked nice. Would the rabbit be able to chew through that? It is like a screen door without the door frame, but the screen is made of some sort of wire. Thanks!

I am not so sure I would use plastic. If you rabbit is a chewer it might chew the plastic and/or eat it which is not good for bunnies.

I know what kind of screen you are talking about, and I think a rabbit could possibly chew through it. It’s very thin wire.

The plastic looks fairly thick (maybe about 1/8 inch?). Any concerns about chemicals? That’s mom’s #1 concern.
