I have a question. When the HRS states

        • Minimum 2 cups chopped vegetables per 6 lbs. body weight

what do they mean when saying cups? Is the cup packed down with veggies? What do they mean? 1 1/3 cups of veggies for my 4 1/4 pound female dutch rabbit seems a bit small.

I’ve always taken it as loosely packed cups.

For a 4 1/4 pound rabbit the minimum would be approx 1.41 cups but I would just round it up to 1 1/2 cups. This is the MINIMIUM, you can always feed more

Ahh yes. Forgot about the minimum part. She probably gets about 2 or more cups a day of veggies. And unlimited hay. thanks for clarifying.

It is very difficult to pack down leafy greens like lettuce and spinach without damaging them, so I also measured with a loosely packed cup. That said the recommendation is for a Minimum so as long as your rabbit doesn’t have a weight problem going over the recommended amount isn’t a bad thing.
