Hi, sorry if this question has been asked before and sorry if it’s stupid.

I gave my bunny their first dry bath few days ago (I usually bring to the groomer but it’s pretty costly). I was told that cornstarch baby powder (no talc) is safe but after reading the forums here, it is said that pure cornstarch powder is better because we do not know what they might add into baby powder.

So my question is, in case my rabbit happened to consume a bit of cornstarch powder, is it safe? Of course, I’d try to make sure the powder’s all gone but let’s just say it’s a little bit that I didn’t managed to remove, would it be ok?

And the cornstarch powder to use is regular cornstarch powder for cooking?

Thanks so much for your help!

Anything it can ingest would be the tiniest residue. I think it should be fine!
The HRS still mentions using baby cornstarch powder.
The product should list what is in it. Some have added fragrance or moisturizers.

Yes, pure cornstarch from grocery is fine.

I would add that it’s really not necessary to bath rabbits (wet or dry) unless they have issues with poo or pee on their undersides. The majority of rabbits are able to keep themselves clean.
