My adult male rabbit, Greg, has been running in his SuperPets plastic igloo, head butting the top, and pushing it with his front feet until it flips over. Then he smugly sits in the ceiling part. I’ve no idea why, it’s not too small for him, he just likes to flip it over, sit in it, and chew on the edges. Any ideas?

I used to have a lop that did this. She was a funny bunny! She also had a ‘pigloo’ except the large one. I threw this after the plastic stained during a storm…don’t ask what the pigloo was doing outside, I washed it earlier during the day. Anyway, I threw it out and simply cut doors in a cardboard box. She never flipped this, and if she chewed it, it was okay because it wasn’t harming her and I could just throw it out and make a new one!

I suggest you throw the plastic igloo and go with good old fashioned cardboard boxes!

Does he have a basket, … preferably a deep basket? Sounds as though that’s the sort of design he’d enjoy.

Bindi used to constantly flip his cardboard house upside down. He would do the “head bop” and flip it and then sleep inside it upside down. Not sure why. Seems like bunnies sometimes like things to be their idea.

This doesn’t sound all that unusual. Some rabbits just like to rearrange things, toss things, move things around. And yes, they do look like they have a sense of accomplishment written on their faces when they are done.
