When I’m sitting on the floor with my bunny he’ll come up behind me and put his front paws on my back and then a second later will go back down to ground level. Is he trying to mount me, but can’t get a grip so gives up? He does this with my boyfriend too so it’s not just me.

If he was trying to mount you, I would think he would go for a more “manageable” part like an arm or a leg. My buns come up to me all the time and put their paws on me. It is usually because they are looking for something (like treats). It is their way of begging.

But he’s doing it to my back…not to my front where the treats come from. That’s why i thought it was odd, but you’re right if he was trying to mount he would choose something easier to get a hold of

I don’t think he’s trying to mount either. It sounds like he’s just exploring you, begging, or just being a rabbit in general. My rabbits put their front paws on me all the time too. Sometimes I think they’re just trying to look around and are too lazy to periscope and thinking, “Human, I will lean on you.”

LOL probably he was being lazy. He was downstairs at the time and was zooming around and binkying so he was probably tired
