Our second gerbil, Foxglove, left us Tuesday evening. She suffered a stroke eight days prior and finally got too weak to keep going. It was very hard to lose her, especially after seeing her battle the effects of her stroke. We hoped she would pull through.

Still, we are thankful that she is now no longer struggling.

        Baby Foxglove:

Some sort of “punk phase” she went through:

Foxglove with her sister Hazel, who passed away in January:

Goodbye Foxglove, we love and miss you and your sister very much.

I’m sorry. It’s so sad having to say goodbye.
I hope her passing was swift and pain free. She can snuggle with Hazel again.

Oh sad – so sorry to hear of your loss. What cuties.

It’s funny how these teeny tiny creatures can be so huge in our heart.

So sorry for your loss. How adorable her punk-hairstyle was! Foxglove is a beautiful name. I had to look the word up. In Sweden that pretty flower is called thimble flower.

Thanks everybody. I cleaned her tank out today and got rid of the rest of her food. The kitchen feels so empty now.

Foxglove was adorable, and knows how much you miss her. She is resting comfortably with her sister now.

Thank you, Pam. We appreciate everyone’s kind words. It was sad seeing her on her own after Hazel passed, I hope they are back together now, cuddling up like they used to.

Foxglove was so cute! Loved her punk phase… So sad to hear of your loss, knows the time to reflect. She’s up with her sis now, probably causing all sorts of mischief!
