Sorry if you are turned off by the titile. But I’d like to know if you can use those nipple waterers that are designed for chickens, but use them for rabbit’s water. I found some online for not a bunch of money. I love being thrifty.

How would you set it up inside your house? From what I’ve seen of a chicken nipple watering systems it seems like it would be a hassle to set one up inside. I would also worry that a bunny wouldn’t know how to use one. You’d probably have to purchase a water bottle or crock as back up until you knew they learned how to use the system, if they ever did. I think it would just be easier to stick with the traditional options on this one.

Off topic, have you made any headway with your parents on the getting/adopting/fostering a bunny front?

Stick with a water bowl or water bottle – I prefer the bowl for my rabbits.

I am not familiar with a chicken nipple, but if it’s anything like a silicone or latex baby bottle nipple, a rabbit would bite through that with little to no effort, rendering it useless. Rabbits will sometimes bite at the metal spout on water bottles, but the metal obviously won’t be damaged by that.

Large, 32 ounce rabbit water bottles are not expensive. They’re only $6-8 and last a very, very long time. A water crock may be even cheaper.

Okay. Now that I think about it, the cost of shipping would probably be pretty expensive.
