Recently I switched hay types and I’ve noticed a change in Bear’s poopies.

I’m not sure the name of what I was feeding him before, but it was quite fine in comparison to the oaten hay I’m feeding him now which I’m assured by the lovely and very knowledgeable pet store lady is fine for my 6 month old.

Before the switch, his poop looked very healthy, nice and big and round with a light brown colour and there was lots of it!
After the switch, his poop looks pretty much the same except it seems to be ‘dryer’.

What I mean is that when he sits in his litter, the poop gets crushed and it makes a big mess!
Whereas before he could sit in his litter and the poo would remain in one piece.

Is this a bad thing? Should I be worried?

        Thanks!

What is the brand of hay you are feeding?

Different types of hay can definitely change the look of their poos but mostly it`s the colour that changes. If his poops are that dry, I would do my best to get some extra water in him. Serve him his veggies really wet.

Yeh I agree-more veggies for water.
Can you pick up some of the other hay you were feeding?
Keep an eye, it may not be the hay, but may be a diet change or other reason his poops are changing.
