I’ve been looking around for local farmers that grow hay. I found a farmer who sells mulch hay. Does anyone know if rabbits can have mulch hay? He also sells straw. Would that work?

Hay that is classified as “horse quality” hay is what you want to look for. Mulch or straw don’t have nutritional value so can’t be fed to rabbits. Some hay is considered “cow quality”, but this is not recommended for rabbits.

I found some good, cheap horse quality hay on craigslist! I wish I had looked there earlier!
