Does fleece have to be specific pet fleece, or is the only difference the patterning?

All fleece works great for rabbits.
A good place to buy really cheap fleece is at consignment stores. Just make sure you wash the fleece first. You can also buy specially cut fleece at fabric stores to fit your size of the cage.
          Hopes this helps.

Bindi gets a fleece blanket to sleep on. I have to replace them pretty regularly and I find Walmart often has great fleece throws for cheap. I just fold it up. You want to make sure it’s a quality fleece and that no little fuzzies will come off when you gently pluck. Right now he’s actually got a faux-fur throw that I got at Bed Bath and Beyond for him for Christmas. I call it his “luxury bed”. He loves it.

And if you’ve never offered your bun a blanket before, make sure to closely supervise to make sure he/she is not chewing/ingesting the material.

I generally buy fleece from a local fabric store when it’s on sale. I hem the edges and fold it up for buns to lay around on.

I have TONS of fleece for my rabbits. Pretty much all of them are old fleeces my mom or I didn’t want. My favorite are the nice fleece baby blankets! They are cute, soft and just the right size.

She’s going to be in fleece heaven now, I’ve got lots of fleece, I just didn’t know it was safe.
