My poor little girl has had a bad health year. Besides having eye problems which is a scratch, that possibly turned into infection, spread to other eye that the vet thinks was all caused by allergies but she has also had some digestive issues.

She’s got runny poo a couple times. Usually cutting back on treats and watching what I put in salad helps and the problem usually clears pretty fast with only a few piles.

Well today I’ve cleaned up at least 7. And she’s still having it. I also had to clean her up because it was a mess “down there”.

I’ve gave her fresh hay and water and am watching her.

I usually get advice from the Rescue but have not heard back and I’m worried. This is the longest it ever happened. My vet is closed so I want to make sure I’m not over-reacting if she needs to go to emergency vet :/

Any ideas what I should do to help her?

I also heard stomach noises when sitting with her but she’s mad at me for cleaning her bum so I hate to sit in there and stress her.

Sweets are most likely the biggest problem with poo. I would cut that out and see if it helps. Try other treats instead like the Oxbow timmy or barley or veggie treats if you want to give her a treat. Maybe even acidophilus tablets – I get the American Health ones that are dairy free for treats for my seniors.

So Sweets has got worse. She started forming round poos last night so I thought she was better but I modified their usual salad just in case. I haven’t given them sweets since Friday and she started displaying the runny poo Saturday. Today she’s barely eating. And the poo is even runnier and smells bad. I’ve been consulting with the rescue since they have more experience and she said it sounds to her like Parasites or intestinal infection. She called the vet for me while I ran around trying to collect sample (at this point there was poo all over my house because they are mostly free range) but I couldn’t really get one because of how liquid it is. So the vet closed before I could get sample to them and we’re going to try to get one to them tomorrow and I have vet appt. Tuesday. In the meantime, they recommended bactrum for the infection/parasite (and now her red bottom parts ), regulan to help with her bloated-ness along with tummy rubs. And CC and baby gas x. So basically the whole spectrum of drugs. I got the first two in her but I couldn’t get the rest so Donna with the rescue had me bring both of them to her house and she did the rest and tummy rubs. She also helped me clean her up down there since she had poopy butt and smelled horrible but I couldn’t clean her alone. I’ve got a notecard with instructions but I’m so worried about my baby. I feel like I’ve probably left something out but I wanted to update.

I was going to ask you if you had ever had a fecal test done before. Hopefully you will get the results quickly. You are lucky you have a bunny friend who can help you with stuff like this.

Is she still unwilling to eat?

She had a fecal test when we first got her since she was found outside. It came back clear.

She’s not eating on her own to our knowledge. We’ve been doing critical care and baby gas x every few hours. Along with tummy rubs.

I’m about to go pick up sub q fluids from the vet.

                      Could it be her teeth?

We’re going to have it checked tomorrow. Tonight Donna is going to give her sub-q fluids- per our vet’s instructions. Donna’s done it before but of course I’m nervous anytime we have to put a needle near her ya know?

I agree re: Sub Q’s. Many times my husband has had to do it with Bindi. I can’t do needles. ***shudder*** But they often make a big difference to a bunny that is unwell.

Best of luck at the vet.

Thank you. Me and my mom took shifts last night doing CC and gas x every 3 hours. We did see her nibble poo and their floor is covered on poo but we couldn’t never tell if it was her so I’m just going to take it all lol.

I’m nervous because her stomach just keeps bloating back up. She’s also getting wise about the CC and will let it just sit in her mouth instead of swolling.

On the good note, I get bunny kisses during the tummy rub

I’ll let you guys know what the vet says.
