I just spent the last 3 hours hot glueing carpet fibers back where they belong… I have put down a rug over the area that is her favorite, but I’m worried she will just pick a new spot. I leave her unattended when I’m home all the time and today she just decided to destroy the carpet. What worries me is that it’s under my computer chair which is not a corner. Anyway, I’m not leaving her out unless I can be in the same room now. She has a million toys and paper towel rolls, a lot of cardboard, and a dig box. Does anyone have any other suggestions? I can’t find bitter apple spray anywhere around here. All help is appreciated.

P.S. She was spayed about 3 weeks ago so I’m hoping it’s just the hormones.

We have been clicker training for three days also. She now knows to go to her cage when I tell her and to sit up on her back legs on command. I’m trying to figure out if it’s possible to clicker train her to not chew on carpet and go for things that are allowed.

Vinegar and water could make the carpet unappetizing. But perhaps it would stain the carpet, I don’t know. It probably depends on the carpet.

Great clicker-training! But if it would work against destructo behaviour, I don’t know. Bunnies tend to go right back and do forbidden stuff when you’re not looking. Perhaps if you bought small, cheap rag-rugs to put over the carpeting she’d go for the rag-rugs instead. My bunny loves destroying rag-rugs. What helped was giving him fresh apple-twigs to chew, all winter he’s been chewing them insted of his rag-rugs. But only yesterday, he decided it was time to re-rag a rag-rug. I let him because they’re cheap and easy to replace.

I feel your pain. My bunny is Ms. Destructo right now as well. She doesn’t get spayed until the end of the month though. I’m assuming it’s just left over hormones, I’ve heard they can still act up about a month after spaying/neutering. As for the water/vinegar thing, I tried that and it worked in some spots, but not all. I mostly just try to block off or cover up her favorite spots. It is annoying though, because I either have to keep her in one room or follow her around into the others and watch her.
