So lately when I’ve been playing with my bun I’ve noticed that he has been licking my comforter and my clothes – not nibbling, not bitting, but licking! Does anyone else’s bun do this? It’s actually really cute. He doesn’t do it often, like it doesn’t seem like he is necessarily having or needing to do it, just sometimes gets a lick and goes on his way. He’ll also do it when he comes to lay on me and I pet him, when he gets comfortable hell lick what ever is at his mouths end. I like this behaviors a lot more than his usual nibbling and digging, but thought I’d see if this is normal or is he just unique!?

That’s your bunny’s way of showing he likes you! Some buns will try to groom you back, and some will simply lick the things that smell like you to show you that they like you.

Harley has a bad habit of licking my couch… Just HUGE wet spots on my couch so I had to start kicking him off the couch as soon as he starts licking. It’s a behavior I don’t want him getting into. After I kick him off he will sometimes even lick the side of the couch but after lots of shoos he has gotten a lot better at it

Yes it’s normal – weird, but normal. My former bunny Spockie used to lick me and my stuff all the time. My favorite example was when I finally took a vacation out of town when he was about 5 years old. I left him with a friend to bunny-sit at her house, so brought his cage and stuff there with him. I tied a knee sock to his cage side so he could smell me (gag) if he got lonesome. When I picked him up, she said he licked the sock daily until it got stiff. So I’m not saying your bunny is weird, I’m saying they are all funny that way.

On a daily basis, Foo has started jumping up on the bed to lick wet spots on our pillows. Always before we’re getting ready to go to bed, so we go to sleep with damp pillows. Also she’ll jump into the laundry baskets to lick laundry, my slippers, sandals, every and anything that smells like us. So totally normal, although I don’t know how she doesn’t die from the way our shoes smell sometimes.
