so my flemish and angora hybrod has mats  you cant see them on the outside but there are mats really close to the skin and as i began taking them out i kept finding more. are there any tips yall can give me? im using a metal flea comb and its working but its a slow process. he also has mats on his feet and underneath him. what would be the best way to tackle those? luckily Elvis is really good about sitting still but i dont know if it will be like that when i have to get the ones out from underneath.

Oreo had lots of mats, someone gave the idea of a small electric pet trimmer, I never got to use it on him though. You can trim them out using bluntish kids scissors.

My lop gets mats and I use a small battery-powered trimmer for dogs. It’s best to only do a bit at a time since it can be stressful.

I just about had a heart attack when we came home from vacation and Wooly had matted. I still don’t know how it happened. But we fixed it by using clippers to cut the matted fur off so he could “start fresh”. Once you have done that, then you can maintain his fur by brushing it on a regular basis.

My cousin actually came and clipped out the mats for me. Daily grooming for now on. Elvis is gonna be pampered.
