Hey! It’s been a while since I’ve been on the forums, but poor Rhosgobel (Rosey) isn’t doing too good. She’s still very active, sweet, and eats a ton…but the past 2 weeks she’s lost a lot of weight (I can feel her hip bones and ribs with no pressure) and the past 4 or 5 days she’s had bloody urine.

I just got back from the vet and she weighs 3.5 lbs. She eats about 4 cups of mixed greens (usually romaine and spring greens, cilantro, and parsely), sometimes some carrots (rarely and not a lot), and as a treat I give her grapes…maybe 2 or 3 every couple days. She also eats a ton of hay all throughout the day, and she does drink water. The vet however could not get a urine sample when we were there since she peed right before we left.  I put a puppy pad in her travel crate though and there were small splotched of red all throughout it by the time we got to the vet. They gave me a syringe and a tube to collect some urine tomorrow and I’ll bring it into our appointment tomorrow evening.

She is about 3 years old though and we’ve only had her the past 2 months-ish…but her previous owners never spayed her, so I’m aware that it’s possible uterine cancer :/ I know rabbits urine can sometimes be darkish and reddish, but still…this is worrisome.

Any other thoughts or experience in this matter?

I can see why you’re worried. That seems like a fast weightloss.

Usually blood is not easily visible in urine.
With uterine infection or cancer I read the blood is seen in the middle of regular urine pool
as it is passed just after urinating. Probably hard to see that if she’s good with litter habits.

The results from the sample should give a clue.

Your vet might suggest X-ray (or ultra sound) and a blood test.

I hope it’s nothing too serious. How long would you have to wait to get results from the sample?
