Hello! This is my first post on here and I’m not sure if I’m doing it right so stick with me…

I got my dwarf rabbit, Louie about six months ago. Which would make him about seven months. He lives with me in my apartment and I just recently switched from a big cage to a play pen for him. He is very snuggly and usually pretty hyper. (:

Louie usually eats two small bowls of pellets, some lettuce, one carrot, and a TON of hay per day/night. Lately he hasn’t been eating quite as many pellets or as much hay. But when I give him his lettuce and carrot he eats it super fast. I even tried to hand feed him hay and he would just rip it out of my hand and lick me.

Since he’s eating and pooping and hopping around as usual, I’m sure he’s not sick. But I just wondered if any of you have had this problem or know what could have caused this change in eating habits.

        Thanks!

          Welcome to the forum!

What kind of hay do you feed? Bunnies can be randomly sort of finicky, and some variety might help to encourage Louie’s hay consumption. Also, as he is older than 6 months and now entering bunny adulthood, I would encourage you to check out the recommended diet for adults, which might include reducing his daily pellet portions: https://binkybunny.com/BUNNYINFO/tabid/53/CategoryID/2/PID/940/Default.aspx
