Hi guys. I’m currently writing a letter to my parents about moving my little bun from the garage into the main. I need some more good reasons to do so. I already have more social interaction and you can observe the unusual behaviors better but I need a few more. Thank you.

Well, if cars are parked in the garage, the exhaust from them could be damaging to your rabbit’s health as well Garages usually aren’t as well insulated as the rest of the house, so it could very warm or very cold int here depending on weather, and heat can kill a bunny very quickly. They are very sensitive to heat stroke.

No cars are parked in the garage. Mine is pretty insulated well too. It stays a constant temperature throughout the year pretty much. I thank you for the ideas though. Any more?

A rabbit is part of a family. Family members don’t live in the garage, they get social interaction with their other family members

Rabbits can get frustrated if they do not receive any human or animal contact as they are extremely social animals.

Also, if your bun gets sick, you can tell when it is sick as you are more in tune with their personality and habits.

out of sight, out of mind. I am 24 with my second rabbit now, but when I was a pre-teen witg ny first rabbir, I’m sure he got much less attention and maintanence because he was in the garage. Your rabbit is in plane sight, he or she will be more at ease because she becomes used to seeing the members of her household as opposed to being terrified everytime someone wonders into the garage. Also if your bun is in plane site you will naturally remember to do logistical tasks like cleaning litter pan simply because you see it more.

I agree my rabbit is in the house in our hallway and I still felt like he spent too much time alone since we would be watching tv in the living room. Now I have an xpen in the living room and every night I bring him for cuddles while I watch tv. A couple of times we’ve had company over and I wasn’t going to sit in the xpen with him (I am a crazy bunny lady but I try to reel it in when we entertain) so I left him in the hall so he would have more room to run around. The hallway is bunny proofed and he has the run of it. Well he scratched at the door to come in and join us and was content to sit in his smaller cage by himself while we played cards, rather than be in the hall alone.

I ditto the others. Rabbits are happiest as part of the family. And I agree that having your rabbit indoors will help you catch any illness earlier.
