Often my bunny wants attention, but he usually wants to play. While my sisters bunny would rather cuddle or sit with us, my bunny is more interested in playing. He doesn’t like to cuddle or lay with me, which is okay, but I have no idea how to play with him. He likes to chase me,and I let him,but I have a small house,so running around isn’t exactly safe or easy. I try to avoid doing so, but then he gets all mopey. I try petting him,but he still gets upset.I don’t want him to feel that I’m ignoring him, but I don’t know how to interact with him bunny to human, playwise.

        Any ideas?

You could try clicker training, there is lots of good info online. I didn’t really know how to play with my bunny either and clicker training has turned into a great solution, Nigel loves it!

The chasing you around could be caused by hormones.  In your profile, you said he is not neutered yet (but soon), so I am assuming he may be reaching sexual maturity.  This can make him extra active (though young bunnies are active!).   So you may need to give him some activities.  Playing with a rabbit is more like giving them things to do and you can either observe or sort of do what they do WITH them.  For example, one of my bunnies liked to push and pull blankets around.  I would push and pull blankets with my hand..with him. Sometimes he would grunt and tell me to leave his blanket alone, so I would just stand by to mess the blanket up so he could use his excess energy to push it all around again. LOL.    Another bunny of mine liked to dig – and so I made a diggy box.  Another bunny liked a treat ball thing — see some of the videos and links below for activity/play ideas.  Note — a bit messy!

            Diggy Box

Grass ball with treats and hay inside

            Phone books and a paper

Bunny surprise bag — though this features one for sale — you can make something similar yourself

Maze Haven — again, you can create boxes and tunnels too yourself with cardboard boxes

You know you might be right about the hormones thing. He does make and odd ‘urf’ noise around me,and stays well out of my reach when he’s floundering about. I thank you for the links! He needs more to do than just play with my socks(that I can’t find anymore lol)

I lie down on the floor and read a book and my bunny likes to climb all over me!

When I watch tv, I like to sit on the floor with Dizzie and let her climb all over me. She also likes to play Peek-a-boo. i put a blanket over her and lift it and sqeek “peeeeek” and she binkies. its really cute! I scratch on the floor like a spider and she chases my fingers like a cat. I also made tunnels and hidey houses out of boxes. I also have a bunch of cat balls for Dizzie…one of her favorites is a ball that i fill with treats and she rolls it around to get the treats out. be creative and he will show you what he likes…

Olivia and I play with stacking cups. The kind for babies. I bought a set at Toys R Us. I stack them up and she loves to dismantle and toss them. She also likes playing with a deck of cards in the same way. I build little houses and she demolishes them. Or I take the cards and fan them out and she picks cards out one at at time. My buns are also into anything that has food in it, like the treat bag mentioned by BB.

Bandit and I do a number of things. Sometimes I set up a hunt for her and hide her favorite leafy veggies around her room and let her find them. I cleaned out some of the caps from laundry detergent and stack them, but she likes to toss them around or binky with them a la soccer. I read about clicker training and might try that next.
