Hey. I made my cage yesterday. It’s far from finished. Can anyone give me some suggestions that I could do?

Here it is. Putting a base on and sides, I need to finish the level too.

Hello and welcome to the forum!

It looks pretty good to me. Is it for one or more buns? What’s your current plan for it? (other than finishing the second level)

You could make some hidey houses with cardboard and put them underneath the second level.

            Hey, thank you!

It’s for two buns. Going to get some wood and cover the grids that are in the cage (base for the 2nd level) so that’ll be their hide-away. Need to make a ramp for them to get up. I’ve seen some really cool enclosures done with the grids but not sure if I want to do that. I am at work most of the day so they need a large area to run around. The cage is 5 x 3 grids. I bought two boxes and have 12 left. I might make another level but have it at the back of the cage. I am just worried about the support and if it’ll be stable enough.

I would build the ramp last and see if they can hop up on the second level without it. My buns are bigger (6lbs, 7lbs, & 9lbs) and they wouldn’t have any trouble getting up. So a ramp might not be necessary. What are they living in now? You may be able to incorporate it.

Here are two youtube videos on putting together a NIC condo (I think 101 Rabbits it’s one of the members here).

Great start! I can’t tell if the hidey place/second level extends all the way across the cage…if so, you might think about adding at least a partial cover so that they can’t jump out. With a second level that is only one grid up, I don’t think you’ll have to add a ramp for access; most bunnies at least 3 lbs. can handle a single grid height with no problem.
