I was wondering if snow peas are actually safe for bunnies. The veggy lists show only snow peas as the safe pea, but some sites say that you can’t feed them if the peas aren’t perfectly flat? Stuff like that … so exactly how safe are they?

I buy them for stir fry, and it would be great if Java could get one in his salad. If I can share any veggies with him, that’s the best. I just don’t want to take any chances, of course.

Mine all love snow peas and sugar snap peas. The actual pea in both is generally quite small and usually unformed. I wouldn’t feed them any of the larger varieties though. Too much sugar in the pea I suspect. Green beans aren’t good for them either but I am not sure why.

Oh okay! That’s great to hear. I wasn’t going to do snap peas because they say not to, I’m guessing because they’re larger. They’re pricier anyway.

I only planned to toss a pod into his salad (once he’s used to it). Thank you for your response!

Good sugar snap peas are smaller than normal ones thinner than the snow peas but a little bit plumper.
