        hello everyone!

i’m absolutely loving this website and all the forms even ordering a bunch of goodies from the BB store.. but i’m in canada so i’m not sure if there will be duty fees or not? if anyone knows if there is pleaseeee let me know! anyway i just want to intoduce my beautiful flemish giant babies (both about 4 months old) Bentley & Darla. i’ve had Bentley since november and Darla since the early january. they have both become giant in that short time out growing my cat, which i love. both buns love eachother and get along great so, so far so good. Darla is a beautiful fawn color and Bentley is what i think they call sandy? he’s more of a grey color white a brown under coat…. i’m almost sure the breeder said ‘sandy’. they are both very adventurous and love to wander the whole house and ofcourse climb everything in sight. they are so fun i absolutely adore them!

        ill post pictures soon!

Hey there! Welcome to BB! I just want to start out by saying I am absolutely jealous! I have wanted a Flemmie for the LONGEST time and you have TWO!!!! I will continue to comment on every picture you post of them, just to warn you! Hahah!

Anyways, you said both are four months old – have they been fixed yet? If not, I would separate immediately. Buns can reproduce VERY quickly. And at a very young age. Also, until spayed/neutered they should be separated because even though they are doing fine together now one day ones hormones can kick in and cause a VERY aggressive fight that can make bonding them after the procedures much more difficult, even impossible.

I cannot guarantee there won’t be duty fees.  Shipping to Canada is already expensive (unless your order fits within the light weight and smaller size requirements for First Class.   Duties and extra fees are not included in the price and we state we are not responsible for that, however, we have yet to have a customer comment or complain about it.  Everything we sell fits within the Nafta Treaty Agreement and so I think that keeps things down or at zero. Maybe some other Canadian BB customers can chime in and say if they have ever had to pay additional fees.

                  Thanks!

and they are quite amazing! i wasn’t going to get flemish giants actually .i was going to go with a smaller breed until ,my outdoor cat decides to go on a ‘hunting adventure’ and brought home a pretty big rabbit(we were shocked)! not dead but badly hurt and it was so late at night we could not bring the little guy to see a vet so we tried to make him as comfortable as possible. the poor thing was bleeding. we gave him some fresh vegies & water he ate and seemed to be doing fine… then all of a sudden passed away. so i knew if i was going to get a rabbit they would have to be really big so my cat wouldnt see it as prey. its funny because now my cat loves the bunnies he plays with them lets them cuddle him, and if anything my bunnys attack him haha they have out grown him by a long shot…. well atleast darla has.

but the whole seperating thing is most definitely necessary at this point! bentley has started to spray ( and is getting neutered in 2 weeks) . and i have to bring darla to the vet im kinda worried thats shes expecting! shes been digging like a mad bunny in her cage at night but no signs of fur being pulled out and for the past few weeks shes been grunting at bentley but only when he comes near her cage, they still get along okay though during supervised play time together. yet the breeder told me she isn’t ready for babies and won’t be for a while….. he was so wrong!

and if i can i will upload some pictures i tried earlier and it didnt go as planned

The breeder I got my bunnies from said the same thing – then everyone on BB went bonkers and told me to the RIGHT information. Don’t do supervised play times – you are just ASKING for a litter of bunnies. And the people on BB who have had oops litters – it’s really heart breaking for them… not to mention very dangerous for her being so young. I would take her to the vet immediately so they can figure it out and do a spay.
