        Hello,

I was wondering if anyone else had ordered an outdoor hutch or run area for outside off the internet?  I’m looking into getting something for my bunny so he can go outside come Spring.  Any advice on what to get and where to buy? I’m in Canada by the way…

        Lindsay

I find big heavy items to be cost prohibitive to order online, the shipping ends up being quite a bit. That said I’ve ordered from fosters and smith http://www.drsfostersmith.com/small-pet-supplies/pr/c/6067 -it was about double the cost of the item (Rabbit carrier) to get it here (Canada) shipped, with customs et al. I’d encourage you if you have any skills, to research what you like and then design and build it yourself Much cheaper

Thanks for the info! My boyfriends dad is a construction worker… So I will ask him if he can build me something.

I made a safe outdoor pen for my rabbits and I LOVE it! Check it out!

This is how I built the frame

This is how I made it rabbit and predator proof!

Do be aware if you make a pen for them small predators if they are in your area can sometimes fit through the larger mesh openings and you want to get smaller mesh if your area has any. Also, thing mesh can be chewed through easily by sharp teeth, so a double layer is good if there is a chance of that. Especially with the smaller bunnies that would be more vulnerable to the smaller rodent like ones.

If you have the means I would look into seeing if you could replicate Mocha’s design for an outdoor bunny run. She’s done a great job to make sure that it is predator safe. I honestly don’t trust a lot of the commercially sold rabbit products.

@Skipper’s Mama: I agree! I have also seen them use toxic wood for some hutches!
