So its been a little over a week since Gunter’s netuer. I didn’t have the heart to confined him to his cage for one week because the cage is really tiny and he kept trying to open the cage with his teeth which made an annoying sound 24/7 so I just let him sleep in his area the whole entire week. Well, still to this day (week after surgery) gunter still keeps spraying the bed

do you think him not being confined for that week messed up his surgery to the point where hes still going to mark his territory and never stop???

        please help

He will still have the hormones for up to a month, possibly more. A week after the surgery, his hormones are likely surging, so the marking instinct is very strong. Give him more time to to allow his hormones to settle, and hopefully that instinct to mark will die down

No I don’t think so. the confinement after neuter is to help healing, not behaviour. Like Monkeybun says, hormones are still there for about a month after so spraying is normal; you can basically consider your little man ‘intact’ for a month after the surgery. Give him some time. Umn and try maybe a shower curtain to protect your bed?

Backing up Monkeybun and Kakaneeandkahlua, atleast a month is required for the hormones to die down and his behavior is likely to be worse for the wee immediately following the neuter. But a beautiful well behaved happy bun is only a month away. My Piglet was a sweet angel before neuter but that did not stop him spraying stinky pee 4 feet up the wall. Now he is still a sweet bun but he is no longer part garden sprinkler
