I honestly just toss in some cardboard tubes or a couple boxes in addition to the store bought toys, because I’m honestly never really creative. But these past few weeks I’ve been getting all fancy with the toys and making little things out of the cardboard tubes and replacing a few things on their k-bobs with thick cardboard squares (which they absolutely LOVE.) and today, we had a cardboard drink carrier, and I was like “I’M GONNA MAKE SOMETHING OUT OF IT!” So I did!

Basically, all you need is the drink carrier, paper towels, a treat of your choice (I used craisins.) and hay. I ripped the paper towels and shoved as many as possible in the drink holder, and then put two treats hidden in two different spots, and put more paper towels on top of them, then I sprinkled cut up hay on top, and there I have a nice cheap toy, which the bunnies really liked.

Here’s a little video. (Hopefully it works)

Ignore my voice, it’s high pitched and annoying, and the dogs were wrestling in the background and they ended up pushing me and making stuff fall. And then it cut off at the end because my phone ran out of memory.  but Duchess really liked that toy, and I’ll probably do it again. :3 We don’t go out to eat often, so we never have drink carriers, so I’ll have to ask my aunt or someone in my family who go to fast food places often, but it’s still a neat little toy I kinda thought up on the spot, someone else probably has done that before, but it doesn’t hurt to share so other people can try something new.

Very clever – it looks like they are enjoying it.

Such a great idea!! Definitely doing this next time I get coffee or something.
I love when you take the hay off and the bun runs away… Buster does the same thing. It’s like they think “Hey I worked to get that all over me!”

Very very cool! I love making homemade toys for my buns! I run a restaurant and every week we get 1000+ boxes of inventory, once we empty the boxes, we throw them away. So I make almost all of our toys with them! I’ve never thought of a drink carrier though! Thanks so much for sharing!! Cute video too!

Oh my gosh too funny! I was planning on using a drink holder to make a new toy too. =p I didn’t think of using paper towels.

So lastnight I made this toy too! BTW I went to Wendy’s for my drink carrier. They laughed at me for asking for a drink carrier, because I only had 1 drink. LOL. My buns LOVED it! I used toilet paper instead of paper towels and bakeshop rabbit pretezels instead of crasins. They had a blast all the same! We will definitely make this toy again! Thanks so much for the awesome idea!!
