Currently I have 5 baby buns, 4 are 20 weeks and one is 9 weeks. One of the 20 week olds, Derek, wouldnt eat veggies right away, then he started when I gave him some of my sisters home grown vegetables. Then he just started eating all the veggies. Now he has decided he is ONLY eating Dill. I feed all my bunnies Romaine, Dandelion Greens, Fennel, Carrot tops, Endive, Cilantro, two types of kale, watercress, chard, bok choy, basil, mint, and dill. My question is is there anything you would suggest I try with Derek that I haven’t already done? Is there any other list of acceptable veggies besides the one on House Rabbit Society? I have given them all the vegetables on the leafy greens low in oxalic acid list that are available at my grocery store. I would like to give them something new and add it into their daily veggies.

Maybe try parsley? My bunny goes mad for it, he gets it every other day due to the high oxalic acid but it’s his favourite veg

Actually, I’m wondering if too much variety is part of the problem. With younger bunnies it’s recommended that you introduce a new veggie about once every 1-2 weeks. They do not get bored easily (some do, but usually not with their greens) and like routine. So I would give him a lettuce staple, a second green with it, and maybe a sprig of something else as a treat at another time of day. Also, be sure he isn’t getting too many pellets. Give him only 1/4 cup now, but unlimited hay.

You want him to get used to a meal plan that changes about once a week, not daily. see if he settles into a routine for the next week.

They get the same veggies and same amount everyday. I got them at 6 weeks old (yes I know that is too young now but I didnt know then). I introduced them to one new veggie every 5 days. He only gets a small bit of pellets not exactly sure how much it is, its a handful. I can measure it from now on but he doesnt even eat all of the handful. He never has eaten the lettuce, the other buns always ate it because he left it.

Also I dont want to do Parsley because of the high acid, I wanted to know if there were any other veggies Im not currently feeding that are low in that acid.

This is the list of safe veggies from the house rabbit society.
the foods labeled “II” are all low in oxalic acid.
