Is it normal for a bunny to hold his pee all night???  Clyde(15 weeks) unneutered, holds his pee all night!!  then when I let him out to hop around the garage before work, he pees a huge puddle in the middle of the garage floor!!! I did put another litter box there, so at least it’s in there!!!  His brother pees a few times in his litter box during the night??? I think 7 hours is a long time!! He’s eating and drinking fine and during the day he is going in the litter box in his cage!!

He may be going enough during the day (and evening just before he sleeps) that he doesn’t need to go if he hasn’t wanted a drink of water close to bedtime. It’s too bad he goes in the garage litter pan, but you came up with a good solution there at least. I wouldn’t worry about it if he’s also using the other litter pan in the day.

thanks so much!! I only had a bunny when I was in high school and he was litter trained by 8 weeks and was just an easy bunny!! My boys are so messy and spraying everywhere causing me stress!! ha ha!!! can’t wait till they’re neutered in a month. hopefully everything will get easier!! If they’re weren’t so entertaining and so darn cute, they would be out the door!! ha ha!! just joking!!

I know you’re joking and you’re right that it will be much easier next month, and the month after that when they’re post-neuter. Sadly, you just described in a nutshell the biggest reason – and the moment in a bunny’s young life – when a bunny gets dropped off at the nearest shelter. The Terrible Teens often have a sad ending, so hang in there and love those boy bunny brothers.

I can see why there are so many bunnies at the shelters! Bunnies are messy little creatures!! They are a lot of work, but so are our cats and dog!!! thank goodness I have them in my heated garage where I can I can shop vac and scrub the floor down with hot water and vinegar!!! My finance helps a lot too!! They were his xmas present!! I hope one day they can join us in the livingroom and lounge around with us without spraying pee everywhere!! ha ha!! They are so loveable and so funny to watch!!! when we have a bad day at work, we come home and the bunnies instantly put a smile on our face!!! Sweet little boys!!!

One of mine holds his pee for up to 12 hours. He’ll go into his cardboard box for a nap at 9am, and come out later in the evening without a pee break in between, so it’s not impossible for them to hold it that long if they want to.
