Are rabbits allowed to have icecubes? I put parsley in icecube trays and fill them up with water.

I wouldn’t put fresh veggies in the freezer. I’m not sure about providing ice cubes, they could be a choking hazard or even get stuck on your bun’s tongue and injure it. Dutchess loves to eat snow, so perhaps give your bunny some snow rather than an ice cube. You could bury a few fresh greens in some fluffy, untouched snow.

Why would you put the parsley in the ice cubes tray? Its going to turn to mush. Isabelle is right, fresh veggies are what you need to feed, not frozen.

Oh, well it’s going to make the parsley mushy. I think ice cubes are going to get messy in her space. I think a nice bowl of fresh clean water is the best way to keep her hydrated.

The binky bunny cooling tips shows that you can put ice cubes in water for them or give them frozen treats! I used to do the same when I first got Enzo and it was hot! I would put treats in water and freeze them and he would lick the cubes!

I think that’s okay as a way to cool them down. I did the parsley in ice cube trick once when it was hot, but the buns weren’t really interested.

So ice cubes don’t harm their tongues or teeth then? If they don’t, I might like to try and give my buns an ice cube to see what they’d do with it. In my experience bunnies LOOOOVE cool things -snuggling up to them, laying on them, licking them. (Little-Bit and Peter have a couple of marble tiles that are their favorite spot to lay out on.)

I wonder if the hardness of ice cubes would also be a good way to keep teeth in check.
