I’ve had my rabbit for just about a month, she was a rescue, about 4-6 months old and spayed

When I got brought her home, she was a bit skiddish (as anticipated) but seemed to very quickly warm up to me. Within the first week, she already slept on my feet when I was at the computer, she’d binky all over, dead bunny flop, sprawl out smack in the center of my bed like she owned it. It seemed like she was having a grand time. She’d always come running when I put my hand down to pet her. If I turned on the vacuum she’s gotta know exactly who this intruder is and if it wants to play All in all, a very lively, bold little girl. And then…

…Two days ago that changed. She suddenly got really scared, or so it seems. She had all the signs of getting spooked, but it’s been days since. And I can’t pinpoint the cause. Quite literally one minute she was playing, binkying in the hallway, the next she froze, was thumping her foot, then hid under the bookcase. Now whenever I motion towards her, she flinches or runs and hides. She either hides under the bookcase or sits as far in the corner as she can go. It’s like she’s afraid of me

She’s still eating and drinking, though now that I look closely, it does appear to not be at quite the level it was a few days ago. But she seems to be constantly stressed, I would imagine that would affect her eating?

Any ideas of what’s going on? I’m very concerned and don’t know what to do

None at all – I guess my best suggestion is to just watch her. Sometimes our rabbits are spooked and we cannot figure it out – they have better hearing than we do so maybe she just heard something. I say give her time and try to gain her trust again.
