Thumper has some clear stuff coming from his nose, but his eyes are bright and clean. He is acting normal and eating well. Maybe too much dust in his hay, bedding, etc? Would appreciate any ideas

Has this come on all of a sudden? Is he sneezing?

Try cleaning out his habitat, shake off the dust and freshen up the hay. Bedding? If it’s not in the litter pan, it isn’t necessary in the cage floor. (Assuming you don’t have wires on the bottom.) Clean the litter and try to not pour in the dust from the bottom of any of the bags. (What exactly are you using for bedding and where?) Dry his nose.

Then, if he has a clear discharge again about 2 hours (not an exact time) after you’ve cleaned everything, it may be an illness or allergy. In that case, I might make an appt. with the vet. It’s no longer a one-time reaction.

No he’s not sneezing at all. I’m going to try dusting everything, and if it doesn’t work ill get a vet appt. thanks!

Also try wiping him with a warm wet face cloth so that if there is more discharge you’ll be able to see easily. Keep us posted!

Right now it doesn’t sound like a cause for a vet visit, but definitely keep an eye on it. It does sound like it could be related to excess dust or something similar.

Is it real discharge? Or just wetness on his nose? Mine have wet noses fairly often, but I don’t see discharge, if that makes sense.
