I’m in Pakistan right now visiting family and leaving tomorrow so my family wanted to do some last minute shopping. I thought I’d tag along too to see if I can get some new brushes for Lilly because she has been shedding a lot and my mom gets mad because she’s allergic to her fur. ANYWAYS, I picked up three and since 1 rupee is 1 cent I got them all for only $0.50 in total. I was pretty confident that these combs would help get the hair to get out all at once until I came home and then I wasn’t so sure. Here are some pictures of the

        combs.

          Doesn’t hurt to try.

It can help to wrap a rubber band in the tines (not sure how to describe it exactly) so it will catch the hair as you brush. Otherwise, combs are good for getting out tangles, but not necessarily pulling out shedding hair.

I used a baby comb to brush out little mats from my Mini-Rex’s fur. Sometimes, being creative with your buns’ grooming is a plus.

I find that a comb works a little better when combing at an angle, not tines down, so the points don’t stab into the skin if that makes any sense. You can also wet your hands and smooth them along bunny’s back and sides. The loose fur will stick to your hands. Then comb through in the direction the hair grows. Those look fine to me, though I think the middle pink one will work the best.

Thanks guys! I’m back now and I would’ve gotten her back but I thought that I would surprise her with her first condo! Because before my mom surprised me with Lilly, she brought her back in a store bought cage and I was really sad for lilly and I couldn’t afford a nic cage but I think that I’m going to use my bunny saving fund for the cage. I will be making a building blog soon!

My mom also said that when she comes back that (after she settles in of course!) we can go to the shelter and get a fixed and litter trained bunny for Lilly to bond with! EEEEKKKKKK!!!!! I’m soooooooooo happy! Also about the cage, it is going to be located under the stairs so it can be really big and it is against the wall that divides our house from our front yard so if they get hot, they can lounge there and cool off. It will also be right by the living room so they’ll be able to go in a corner to get warm at night because it gets really cold at at my house when it gets dark. AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! I’m so excited I feel like I’m gonna explode!

aww *faceslap* I’ll have to get her fixed before I bond her. Do you guys think that I can have her friend settle down while she is recovering? and then bond her after that

It sounds like you’ll be needing a separate habitat for the new bun no matter what until the bonding is complete, so I think it’s a good idea to get her spayed, while you get to know the new friend and bond with the new bunny yourself. Then, after she’s healed (in about 1-2 weeks) you can start the bonding process. All very exciting! (And rescuing a neutered bunny gives a deserving bunny a home, plus makes room for another abandoned bunny at the shelter, so it’s a great plan.)
