I asked this before and didn’t get much of a response so any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Lola is impeccably clean.  So much so that she loves to be vacuumed with the vacuum attachment (I have a great video I’ll have to upload at some time) and has a perfect cage habits enough so that we have carpeted her cage – she won’t even get it messy with hay.  BUT we have a problem – she HATES using the litterbox in her cage. It’s gotten to the point where she just won’t use it and is meeting us at the door of her cage in the morning waiting to get out so she can use the box in the living room.  I don’t know what to do.  It’s getting to the point that I can just tell that she is “holding it” and she is dropping a few poo pellets at night in her cage like she just can’t hold it in anymore.

Both boxes are exactly the same and I try switching them interchangeabley when they are clean and when she has used them so she knows to use them both – but she just won’t.

I think this is eventually going to cause a problem with her history of GI Stasis and I don’t know what to do.  Her NIC cage door is open 16+ hours a day so she’s not usually cooped up in there – but she shouldn’t be “holding it” for 8 hours a night while we sleep and she’s locked in. Usually, one of us is home during the day so she doesn’t have to wait that long during the day hours….but still.  She can’t be free range because we don’t own the apartment and I’d rather be safe than sorry so that isn’t a solution right now.

        HELP!

ETA: I’ve also tried just removing the living room box completely and after 12 hours of her not pooping I put it back because I didn’t want to torture her or create a health problem and she saw me do it and immediately hopped in and used it.  So….that option has been tried too.

Well, if your bunny is really clean, when she does poop is it all in one corner? If it is try putting the litterbox there? Sorry not really sure, my bunny always just uses his box. Most bunnies like to choose their “spot”

Did you put the litter box she normally uses in her pen? You can also a night have the door open and make alojg run way to the litter box, and at day time take the runway down

That is strange. Have you tried moving the cage potty to another location in the cage? Maybe she just doesn’t like the location. Wish I had more advice for you.
