I’ve had my mini lop for a week now, he’s about ten weeks. I noticed this morning that he hasn’t eaten his cecitropes, there are about 4 of them in his cage. He’s still eating and drinking and seems happy enough. At first I was restricting his pellets but then read he should have unlimited pellets so I increased this but have noticed he hadn’t eaten as much hay since I did this.
He’s already booked in for a check up at the vet on Saturday, any advice on what I should do?

        Thanks guys

It probably relates to the increase in pellets, but it should still be mentioned at your vets on Saturday.

Welcome to the forums! Is it a one-time thing, or have you noticed him leaving more cecals? It’s good that you’re monitoring his appetite/pooping, and great that you’ve already made a vet appointment.

I noticed one yesterday and three this morning, should I cut down on his pellets do you think?

I think it’s fine to cut down on his pellets, especially if he opts for the hay instead. It’s unlimited hay, but I’ve always done restricted pellets, even when Sammy was young. If you use a 1/4 cup daily, and furnish enough greens, hay and water, he should be healthy and strong. The hay is also very good for his teeth. Pellets are more like nutritional supplements, like vitamins, but they are tasty so bunnies will often prefer them.

I’ve noticed bunny owners in the UK use the term eggcup to measure the pellets. So one eggcup would be similar to 1/4 cup. Does that help?

Ah brilliant, thankyou! In that case I probably have been giving too much, explains why he’s not been finishing them!
