Lady M was our 20 year old cat. I grew up with her.  She was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism but I do not think that is what killed her.  My mom just  told me today that she had stopped eating and it’s been 3 days, she hasn’t gone to the bathroom, and couldn’t walk without falling over.  We called the vet and had scheduled to have her put to sleep tomorrow morning but she did not make it.  We came home from shopping today and found Lady M lying on the ground with bloody diarrhea and her mouth open.  She was still alive so we called the vet and they told us to bring her in that it is an emergency.  So we tried to hurry there but it was too late.  Lady M passed in a box on my lap on the way there (she was bundled up in a towel, so hopefully she was a little comfy).  She was a good cat.

I wish I knew what happened because I really don’t think the hyperthyroidism did it.  They did so many tests before and couldn’t find anything but the hyperthyroidism.  =/  ugh so frustrating.

I hope she’s not suffering anymore, if she was…

I’m sorry for your loss Amy. At least you could be there for her last moments. I’m sure that brought her comfort.

I think she was waiting for us or searching for us that is why we found her where she was. I was petting her and telling her it was okay trying to comfort her. I think I did because not long after that she passed.

She lived a long happy life though, which was good.

              Oh sweetie, I’m so sorry.
There’s few things harder to see than an animal you have known for a long time crossing the bridge in your arms without the aid of a vet. Our cat, Fuzzy, died in our home on a cold November night when just my daughter and I were home. But at least we were here with him and could hold him as he crossed over.
Try not to give in to speculation about Lady M’s cause of death. Not many kitties or other animals make it to the grand old age of twenty. It was probably just her time and she waited for you so she could say goodbye. You did all you could to help her in such a situation.

I know none of this means much now, but if you should need to talk please feel free to send me a PM. I’ll be happy to listen and help where I can. ((((((((Hugs))))))))
Run free Lady M. Paradise has a new and special kitty angel on it’s shores tonight.
