Lily is 16 weeks now, and she as become OBSESSED with this one particular corner of the living room. We try and keep her out of there with barriers, but she will do virtually anything to get back there. Its becoming so bad. We can’t afford to have her digging up our carpet, plus its bad for her. We’ve tried numerous toys, cardboard boxes. and paper bags, but she just spends her play time trying to get back there. I really don’t know whats up, and could use any advice!

Bricks. Cover the spot with some bricks. Never fails.

First, make a solution of 1/2 white vinegar and 1/2 water in a spray bottle. Spray the whole area. The smell won’t linger, it won’t hurt your carpet or walls, but it will be a smell that she doesn’t like.
Then I would buy a flat seagrass matte and lay it over the favorite carpet spot. You are covering it with an edible thing that will make the spot disappear, and if she chews it, it’s actually healthy for her. You want her to lose the fun of being in that area. Simultaneously you provide good toys for her to play with instead. If she is chewing and digging, you want to use chewing toys (willow balls are excellent) and diggy toys. So make a diggy box by shredding paper and putting it into a basket or cardboard box for her to jump into. Hide a small treat or two in it each time so she can dig until she finds the reward. It will be more worthwhile in her mind than a bad tasting carpet. Also, a yellow pages phone book is great for shredding because the ink is safe – it’s soy-based.

Yup, cover the area. Personally I find that tile squares at home improvement stores do the trick quite well, and are usually too heavy for the bunny to move aside.

BEST SOLUTION EVER: Give her a towel to dig into. Literally, I was yanking all my hair out trying to get my bunnies to stop destroying the carpet. I literally have like 3 threads on here pleading for advice. The towels REALLY helped with the digging behavior for all three of my buns (all of whom were OBSESSED with patches in the dang carpet). Every time she does it say “NO” and give her the towel to dig instead. It took about a week but now my buns are all successfully Towel destroyers instead of Carpet destroyers!
