So I’ve had a male (who i’m actually pretty sure is a female) mini-lop for about 5-6 years now, named Boo.

And I recently got a male flemish giant who is almost 3 months old, whose name I am having a hard time deciding on…

First of all, is it even a good idea to introduce them to each other? ( Once I of course get the spaying/neutering situation figured out) Because my flemish is already much larger than Boo, along with drastic age differences.

Should I first take Boo to a vet to find out once and for all what gender he/she is? And to make sure she/he is healthy enough to be around another bunny?

And I should get my flemish neutered before he hangs out with any other bunnies right?

And should I get Boo neutered/ spayed because of his/hers age? Or he/she too old?

If you can answer any of these questions it’d be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Yes to all? Get Boo checked out, and fixed up, get Flemmie bunny checked out and fixed up, wait for a month for heal time, and slowly introduce. Size and age shouldn’t matter with bonding, personality will.

Absolutely get your older bunny into the vet ASAP! Confirm that he is a he and get him neutered. If it turns out that he really is a she, this is where things might get tricky. Unspayed female rabbits have a high risk of developing cancer by the age of 4. If she is still healthy, a spay should still be possible, but there is a chance there may be some cancerous cells present. I have to ask, why was your older rabbit never sexed by a vet?
