Hello, I am new to these forums!

My current rabbits are Crush and Calypso(Callie for short). Crush is a three year old, male, neutered Holland Lop and Callie is a ten month old, spayed female Lionhead. Crush is my calm, cuddly, chill-wherever/whenever boy, while Callie is sassy, loud and obnoxious.

I’ve been rescuing animals for over ten years now, and have had a rabbit once before, although this was many years ago and rabbit care was different than it is now. I can’t believe how wrong I was, in the proper care of my first-ever rabbit so many years ago! I’m happy to say I’ve much improved as I’ve done my research. Crush came to me as a rehome from a family whose son grew up and no longer wanted that cute bunny. Callie was my true rescue, however, as she was the neglected, mistreated rabbit of the two and is slowly learning to trust people again. I acquired Crush a few months prior to Callie, when I saw Crush on an ad online looking for a new home. Callie, on the other hand, was sadly originally owned by a friend of mine who bought her for her two year old! Her water bottle would go empty for days at a time, her cage was always disgustingly filthy, and the two year old would constantly pick her up and throw her around – if she even got out of her cage to roam! Now, both rabbits get roaming time a couple hours each, per day in my spare room(where their cages are located), while I try to bond them with short sessions daily, so that I can eventually get them into one big NIC cage, and living together. I’ve been training, rescuing, rehabilitating and fostering animals for over ten years, with dog behavior and training being a major facet of mine.

I joined these forums after, upon another forum that I will not name, it was recommended to use aversive methods to ‘train’ rabbits.. I decided quickly that such a forum was not for me and have since been recommended this one by someone familiar with this forum, as well as familiar with my passion for positive reinforcement.

I’m always hoping to learn more and am happy to be checking out the forums!
