We recently adopted a Jersey Wooly and I have been regulary brushing him with a rolling pin brush. For the most part there hasn’t seemed to be any mats or problems although it does seem like a lot of fur was coming out recently. The other morning we notcied a bald spot and of course mats are forming around them. We aren’t sure if this is part of the molting process (not sure how old he is but probably around 1 year old maybe a little less or more), if we are grooming him too much/too little, or if this is something to be more concerned about. We did have him a the vet and he said there weren’t any signs of this being worms or from his bunny wife grooming him.

So if any Wooly owners out there can give us any info it would be greatly appreciated.

He’s not scratching or anything is he? It is hard to tell in the pic what the bald spots really look like. It could just be a case of over grooming. I know I have brushed Wooly before and had large amounts of fur come out. He is notorious for not shedding really for awhile and then all of the sudden there is fur coming off everywhere.
