Ok so I have recently moved back into my house with my partner and he has an adorable 12 week old kitten (a week younger than Bilbo!) they get on like a house on fire, well Bilbo is so placid and easy going but Tilly just wants to play with him all day and follows him around like a shadow.. It’s adorable..

Anyway Bilbo being a house bunny roams the house but keeps eating the kittens dry food but I know it’s really bad for him and he’s not meant to so I’m wondering if anyone has any tips on how I can stop this from happening? Tilly (the kitten) isn’t able to jump high enough onto the work table in the kitchen yet for the food so it’s on the floor for her but Bilbo just goes in and if I keep moving him away from it he keeps going back.. Any one know how to solve??

        Elle.

My Bindi likes cat food too. He always tries to sneak a piece if he gets in the kitchen. I think you will have to work something out to put the kitten’s food where he can’t reach it. Maybe keep her food in a separate room? Eating a few pieces won’t hurt a bunny but I can’t imagine it’s good for them and I suspect eating enough might cause a tummy ache.

What about building a little enclosure with grids where the cats food goes and replacing one of the lower grids with a cat door? That could work… As far as I know rabbits don’t use cat doors haha

Yes, finally I have a stair gate now so the kitten can get access to her food but Bilbo cannot!!!
