        Hi guys,

I am a new “old” guest on this forum. I joined almost 4 years ago when I had my first house rabbit, Karl. I loved this forum for all the many things I learned here, and all the great people and their beautiful bunnies. I have been away for a very long time though, but I see now that I have been looking around that I have missed all you crazy rabbit people

So here is a quick bunny update for you all:
        Karl

4 years old and still going strong. My first one. Karl is a bunny-bunny. He enjoys kisses from me, but most of all, he just wants to hang out with other rabbits.

        Molly

Molly joined us a few months after Karl moved in. My boyfriend has always described her “as a pain in the butt”, and probably she was. I loved her endlessly – she had such great personality. Every rabbit I have ever had has loved her instantly, and so did I. She was my speciel one. Molly left us all on November 1st this year. I really miss her

        Jack

Jack was a rabbit I found on a website when I looked for a wife for Karl. Some months later I noticed he was still looking for a home, and so of course I had to take him in. He was such a great lille fella. He bonded instantly with Molly and Karl, but most of all, he loved cuddling on my chest and sleep next to me in bed. Bless his little heart  He died of leukemia just 6 months later.

        Freddie

Freddie was a substitute for Jack. Unfortunately, he and Karl DID NOT get along AT ALL. He took an instant liking to Molly though. It was endless fights btw him and Karl and after 9 months I had to stop the bonding sessions. He lives at a rabbit sanctuary now, and ignores me each time I go to visit him.

        My

My was a substitite for Freddie, since I definitely wanted a trio. She lived in a garage with her mum in a tiny cage. Both were terrified of people. It has taken a really long time for her to get used to sounds, humans and even other rabbits. She is still a timid rabbit, but she gets braver and more balanced for each day. Perhaps one day I will be able to pet her. She definitely has her issues.

        Mærsk

I wanted My to have a “husband” hoping that a soul mate of her own would help her get more relaxed. However, My was scared of the new rabbit, and instead Mærsk and Molly fell in love. Karl and Mærsk also got on, but one day all four  fell out and had big fights. In the end, I had to return Mærsk because he and Karl kept bearing a grudge and would go at each other’s throats. A real shame, as Mærsk was really cuddly and friendly and just wanted kisses all day. He and Molly really enjoyed each other.

So, basically, I only have Karl and My now. I went from a quartet to a twosome in just one month  I hope to one day to get a Dutch baby bunny like Molly once I feel ready again.

          Crazy Rabbit People? Where?!!
          : P

Though the circumstances that brought you was sad, it is nice to see you here at BB again.

That’s funny Freddie snubs you when you visit. I can’t quite recall…was he a bit of a clown?

I didn’t realize My was a “no touchies” bunny. I had figured because you had her from young that she’d do well with human interaction. She must have some strong fear reactions in her early life.

ETA: Mærsk looks lovely! I love agoutis and he sounds like a sweet heart.

Yes, she was MonkeyBun. Truly was

I honestly never got to know Freddie fully, because all my focus was on the terrible bonding attempts. He had some stereotypical behaviour (biting paws) and after he had E.Cuniculi, I wasn’t sure if it had affected parts of his brains. I really wanted to give him a good home, But I take it as a good sign, that he ignores me – that means he is doing well

My is a project more than a pet, I have to admit. I thought that by getting a young bunny (4 months) I would get a problem-free and cuddly little friend. Oh, was I wrong
Until just recently she would hide if we just looked at her directly. It took her 1½ year to realise we do not have eyes that can kill! But she gets better for each day. I will make a thread about her soon, because I have some ideas I want everybody’s input on.
