This is what I learned in class today.

Filling the syringe with fluid without air and/or bubbles is a lot harder than people think  It is kind of an art that I will learn to perfect.

Now time to do research on my essay

ChaCha - Yep, it does get easier. I remember having to learn to do it so I could give my husband's lizard his shots. Wow, that sounded weird. LOL

Poor little Warri... Do you think the pending seizure may have played a part in the ear biting. Maybe he was feeling out of sorts which caused him to bite Peepi.

I was actually thinking it could be the opposite, that all the fighting and chasing could have been too much activity for his brain and contributed to his seizure. No more seizures since though, so yay!

Warri goes to the vet tomorrow for his acupuncture. I try to take him in every 2 weeks, but I kept forgetting to make his last appointment so its been a month since his last visit. Between all the fighting, chasing, seizure, and the missed appointment his back has been pretty bad and he's had a hard time getting around. He also keeps stepping in his cecals which then get stuck on his foot so we've been having to clean his foot lately too.

need to rant a little... my paranoia goes further than just as a bunny momma. I had this contact at the company I want to work for who urged me to apply once I was done my DEC and she basically guaranteed me the position. I sent my CV in on Monday, directly to the director of the department I would be working in, and haven't heard anything yet I don't want to call her again to see when I should expect a call - don't want it to seem like I'm nagging. Gonna be so upset if they don't call me - I wish she hadn't gotten my hopes up on this one!!

Peppi and Warri -- I hope the acupuncture session goes well. Where on his body does he get the acupuncture? Does he stay still? Chacha had it once and I was so shocked to see how still she sat. I just saw Dr. S on Wednesday and she told me to continue giving Chacha the ear ointment and she prescribed some oral metacam. If the infection does not get better, to keep giving her the ointment until I take Chacha back on the 28th. I am crossing my fingers that Chacha gets well. She has always given me problems with her ears and I hope she eventually grows out of it or something Some buns just have continual health issues for unknown reasons.

I was having such a bad day today. I just couldn't take it. I just wanted to go home, which saddened me more this this was the last day for the season. I was just so overwhelmed though. =(

It's raining and I don't think anyone is going to complain as we've had months of dry weather and water tanks were running dry and people had to buy water to fill their tanks.

Bunny wise, all's going well, the girls are 12 weeks old today and I put them on the scales. Athena is about 750 grams and Persephone is just shy of a kilo, they're growing slowly but I don't think they'll be huge bunnies. Got some lovely scratches from a pair of nervous nellies

this sunday,, TTAS' queen diva Bianca is coming home with us. we were going to do another pair (or even a trio) next, but we'll be so busy with orders until xmas is over. but that also means all-day supervised living room bun-run time. Bianca is the only RED bunny at the shelter (all pens have a little plastic Green, Yellow, or Red bunny icon on the front based on the bunny's sociability)

Bianca is adorable! We have a bun at the rescue I work with that would probably be considered a red too. She's so sweet but it's gotta be on her terms of course and she loves pets, she just doesn't like it when the pets stop

I admire what you do for those buns Mike. The idea of fostering is becoming more attractive to me. I'm just worried about getting attached.

So we took our buns to their vet today (on her last day too. Still really upset about that). We took them because I noticed they both lost weight. She gave them a full check up (and only charged me for one bun for recheck so it was really inexpensive comparatively- another reason to love her). Basically the news is that Bunjamin's points on his molars may never be an issue and he might not ever need surgery on them. He may but it's possible he won't. Sweets on the other hand will most likely need to go under anesthesia within the next 3-4 months. I'm to follow up with new vet in February. Basically my vet said it's a symmetry thing. Bunjamins points are small and symmetric where as Sweets are longer and only on one side. I don't like the idea of either of them going under anesthesia though :/ She also said most likely with Sweets this won't be a one time thing.

we can only do all the fostering because we work from home.
i do get attached at the end of 5 weeks. its the same feeling like on the last day of summer camp when you're a kid.

That is really admirable to do the fostering thing! I would never be able to do it myself, I would guaranteed get way too attached and wind up having WAY more bunnies at home than I ought to. It's the same thing that keeps me from going to shelters etc, I would wind up coming home with a LOT of creatures, haha.

Number one sign I should go back to bed? Let Cinnabun out of her pen, got in to do some cleaning, my leg got caught on the top of the Xpen as I was getting in, and I brought the whole thing crashing down, puncturing several areas of my leg as I proceeded to fall on top of it. Poor bun. She was sitting nearby and looked terrified.

He gets the acupuncture along his back, hind legs, and his head. Lately he's been getting electro-acupuncture, so he looks like a frankenbun! He stays surprisingly still which is good because with all those needles in him I'm afraid to touch him anywhere except his shoulders. I hope Chacha's ears get better!

Hazel: I did. And of course it got cancelled after an episode that finally had be interested in what was really going on! :/ I started watching it because of Terry O'Quinn (I was a LOSTaholic for all 6 years) but it was very slow and the rating kept going down. It's a bummer though.

Leopold is hilarious. I needed to grab him tonight. I normally try to sneak up on him, which is fairly easy as long as his back is turned to me. Well tonight I went in there and he was half in and half out of the hay box. I don't know if you guys remember, but I cut holes in the side of a box (looks like a bunny face) to make a hay holder. I thought, okay, I'll just grab him now. I grabbed him and went to pick him up. Only problem was the box was "stuck" around his head. I pulled him up close to me, box and all. I called my husband and he came to help pull it off. Turns out he had a hold of the flap inside the box with his mouth. What a stinker! I think he was thinking he could deter me or something.

The past 2 days at work have been absolutely absurd. It has been busy, which isn't new to me because this week Thursday is Thanksgiving. I had a couple come through my line and I made one little mistake while ringing up their items, but I fixed it. They did NOT understand how I fixed it, and as I was TRYING to explain to them how I fixed the mistake, they KEPT CUTTING ME OFF! I wanted to scream at them. The manager told me to void the whole transaction out and re-do it. At the end of the transaction, the husband says "Accuracy brings people back." I wanted to say: "DO YOU WANNA DO MY JOB FOR A DAY? FOOL, YOU WOULD FAIL!" Instead, I turned my head away to wait for the receipt to print, and rolled my eyes. BTW, their mistake was fixed and the price was the SAME DAMN price the first time. Do people like them just totally get a kick out of insulting cashiers? They should find a new hobby.

I am done with work until Black Friday.

I'm enjoying my smirnoff and my vegetarian sloppy joes. BURP.

LoveChaCha - I had a lady argue with me a couple weeks ago. She had bought a bunch of stuff the day before and came in wanting a price adjustment because she found an ad for 20% off. I said it was fine. I returned everything, rang it up again, and took the additional discount off. Then I refunded her the difference. Then she sat there staring at the receipt and told me it wasn't right. It was. I sat there for a good five minutes trying to explain to her what I did. Finally she seemed satisfied and went away.

The past 2 days at work have been absolutely absurd.

i'm looking at 12+ hour days (including weekends) until at least dec 10th, that's when it started to taper off last year because the international people figured it was too late for delivery. what really sucks is i'm missing what may be the last solid week of 80's temps.
