The breeder just emailed me, she told me all the males are show quality, we put in for a pet. So I guess we don't get one

Haha Nikita me neither! Need to go Christmas shopping!
Aww Hazel! Can't she sell you one even if its show quality? That's kind of annoying. My Apollo is apparently going to be a really good example of a mini lop, a good one for the shows. But I'm not showing him. He's just going to be my little spoiled brat! ^.^

Well, they charge $150 for a show quality, half for pet, so that's kinda pricey. But their waiting list is pretty long, so the show qualities are probably already reserved anyway.

Nikita you're not the only one! They're already calling for snow in Montreal as early as Saturday, and are saying it's going to be a rough winter . Halloween only ended a few hours ago and some of my neighbours already have their Christmas lights up. I guess it's time to pull out the snow gear (yuck!).

How are the winters in PA? I'm actually going to be there (In Philly) for a few days in December.

Winters in PA vary. Last year wasnt that cold, no huge snowstorms. A few years ago it was super cold with a ton of snow. I am hoping for a repeat of last year.

The firs thing I have to do in this thread is a big long noisy...

SQUEAL *HEAD EXPLOSION* SQUEAL *HEAD EXPLOSION* OMGGGG...
Roberta....
I literally just died of happiness looking at those baby pictures. BUN-NAPPING all of NikitaSues babies if they all are that freakin' CUTE!
*Head Explosion* *Died from Excitement* AHHH.

Okay... I'm good now. Just needed to get that out.

ChaCha went trick-or-treating! Hahahhaa. I'm going to have to remember that and do it with my buns next year! I'm so excited for Christmas! I can't wait to get the buns Christmas gifts!!! Our first Christmas with our little bratty family!!!

SkippersMama -- Thanks for the idea, that is such a great one!! I'll make sure to take pictures of everything and post them afterwards! I never even thought about lighting but it's so true! And we are totally on the same page about staying prepared! I read so many of the threads on her just to get an idea of what to do if my bun comes down with one of these illnesses or problems! Don't worry too much about Skipper, We ALL worry about those spays... I was a total wreck. I even bawled when we brought her home.

Now onto November stuff... UGH. November brings my brats turning NINE freaking months old! HOLY CRAP. I just had a heart attack counting that out. OMGGGGGG. My brats aren't babies anymore. WAHHHHHH. HOW OLD did everyone say before they start getting Less Hyper?!?!? Oy vey. Ha!

Nine months old... God, I feel so old. I swear we JUST got them a few months ago.. I Swear!

Awww, Hazel. I'm sorry to hear about the breeder. Thankfully, where we got our buns from didn't have a system set up like that. Especially since Tans are pretty much only show bunnies. Have you checked into other breeders in the area? I'm sorry, I can't remember what kind of bun you were looking for? I may have missed it somewhere along the line or it was a while ago.. I don't even remember you talking about getting a new bun!

FooFoosMommy -- you're from Pa?! I'm from Pittsburgh! Did we already have this conversation? I have a short-term memory! LOL. I'm always forgetting stuff. I do feel like a good number of people on here I've been noticing are from PA though! More than I expected really. This will only be my 2nd winter here but last year was VERY mild! Especially since I'm used to those lake-effect Western NY winters... BRRRR...

Ugh, tonight and tomorrow are going to SUCK! I work tonight 4-close which is about 'til 11 and then go in tomorrow at 6:30am... UGH. Wish me luck guys! But then I get the weekend off! And we're going out to a nice dinner afterwards and then going shopping for stuff for our Murder Mystery Dinner! I'm trying to think of a good outfit to wear (by using stuff I already have). I'm supposed to be the actress/singer character so I'm supposed to dress like a flapper! I have my accessories all picked out but now for the outfit...

November already! ahhh! havent even started with the shopping. On a budget this year so just doing immediate family and the kids. I'll probably do baked stuff/ "gifts in a jar/tin" for everyone else. Christmas is really for the kids and of course the fur babies (who else gets their pets presents?)

Winters here vary too. last year was super mild for the majority. year before we had 4-5 of snow by mid Jan and -30 for the rest!

I LOVE Christmas too! just really bugs me that its all over the stores at the same time as thanksgiving and Halloween. lol

Haha it works out though, that way we can get at least some of our Christmas shopping done without having to fight off the crowds of grinches!! I've already finished half of my Christmas shopping just because I know the malls around here are going to be like zoos.

Lol, HippyHop, of course I get them gifts!! I made Ruby a fruit salad on her birthday this year. What to get her for Christmas? Maybe a candy cane shaped willow twist haha She's actually going to be getting a late gift (BIG though) this year. I'm going to be moving in February so I'll finally have enough space to build an extension onto her cage!!! Yay! I already decided which one I wanted - spoiled girl is going to have an extra 4.5 by 7.5 foot area added to the space she already has. I may be more excited about it than she is when I get it built.

tanlover, thank you. They are Flemish Giants. We don't really have any breeders close by, this one was the closest rabbitry we felt comfortable getting a bunny from, and they are still 3 hours away. The next closest is 4 or 5 hours away I think. But it doesn't matter really, in the beginning we were kind of on the fence about getting one because they are so expensive to keep, so we said we would try one time and let fate decide. Unfortunately that didn't work out so well... Maybe something else will work out sometime down the road, we all know there is no cure for bunny fever

Oh god, I want a Flemmie sooooooo bad. But that's true -- there is DEF no cure for bunny fever. Not even more buns... LOL. Thankfully, the breeder we got our Tans from has buyers for the two babies they just had sooooooooo I will stop drooling over them and figuring out how to work them into my boyfriends heart, hahahahah.

Haha, bunny fever - never heard the term before but that's EXACTLY what it is. I can't even go to pet stores to buy supplies for Ruby anymore, I'm so tempted to bring every one home every time!

Imais, Cant wait to see her new home when its finally done after you move. we are going to build a cage (found a cool link online) but its going to be high and long as our house is TINY. then when we move in a couple of years we will upgrade

Flemish Giants are HUGE! ive only seen one at a show somewhere when i was little and it was almost half my size at that age. more to cuddle!

Bunny fever! LOVE it! I always get Hip something to play with at the petstore, his favourite is a small dogs kong with treats stuffed inside, or his bell ball. I plan on trying some willow soon.

I've been having fantasies about a third bun. Then I think perhaps my two wouldn't necessarily want a third wheel in their relationship.

Not much happening around here. I have homework I need to do and I also need to get things together for a conference. The clock is ticking and yet I still have trouble getting motivated to do it. *sigh

Hazel - check out Craigslist and local rescues. There are always large rabbits being given up and in my experience it is so much more rewarding to rescue than to get one from a breeder.

Right now the idea of another bunny in this house is CRAZY to me. I'm exhausted with just 2 thank ya. lol (of course we just did bonding and litter box cleaning so of course I'm going to say that)

I'm a little stressed. Trying to manage it by making tons of list. There's just so much I want/need to do and not enough me or time to do it. AHHH!

I'm would have to agree to Frankie on that one. The thought of any more buns makes me a little sick to the stomach haha. But I do have six at the moment.

I'm so completly stressed at the moment. I'm having to pack up and go to my mothers house because we just found mold and I have to hide the rabbits from the landlord. This means taking apart and moving three cages and six rabbits all in one car. And all this is happening tomorrow. I have one cage taken apart and ready to go but i have to wait til we are ready to leave to take apart the other one. And then the smallest one will act as a car seat for oreo and the babies and thump will go in the carrier. Plus i have class tomorrow so i just completly BS'ed a speech to give tomorrow and I have to get up for this exhausting day in 4 hours. Loving life at the moment.

but its better than having to pay a security deposit of 625 for EACH RABBIT and 50 bucks a month. No thank you

@NikitaSue20, wow thats crazy!! Me and my roommate had to pay a $500 damage deposit and a $500 pet deposit, but that was a one time returnable fee and we have FIVE animals. And the landlord gave us 60 days to pay the pet deposit so we weren't giving up 2 grand in the first month. And our landlord couldn't care less about my rabbits, once she found out they were neutered. She only cared about our cats peeing on things because she's had problems in the past.

Holy cow NikitaSue! That's crazy! How are the littles fairing? They must know that something's up.

Tanlover now that I think about it. They sell these lightbulbs here in FL not sure if they do in Pittsburg but they're called Party Lights. And their colored. Which might be easier then the celophane. I didn't know they existed until a few months ago when my bf said something about them. Whenever we did parties and decorating I've always just used the celophane. =p

I'm a really proud Mama today. Skipper was so naughty this morning but I can't help but be proud that she exercised her little brain and used her critical thinking skills! We let her have the run of the other side of the house last weekend when she was sick to get her belly moving from the running around. We, also, figured it would help with relieving some of the gas. Well, this whole past week she's been trying to chew through the baby gate we always have up to make sure we don't let her out there. We were worried that she would ingest a lot of plastic from the gate and ended up throwing a blanket over it. She wasn't having the blanket. It was royally pissing her off and she wanted on the other side of the gate. This morning she figured out that she can jump over the gate to get to the other side of the house. =p So naughty but so proud of her that she figured it out. xD Such conflicting emotions.

Aw so cute! Naughty little skipper haha.

Ruby does the same with my basement. I live with my parents and my father wasn't very happy when he discovered she had nibbled the mouldings as a baby. Needless to say she's not allowed there anymore. I sometimes bring her on the ground floor when I am watching tv, and often leave the door to my bedroom open when she is playing in there (her cage is also in there). But she knows her way around the house so as soon as I'm not looking she sneaks away to go down there.

The funniest part is that she apparently knows that it's my father who doesn't allow her to play down there anymore(of course she knows I'd like her to have the run of the house) because if she sees him on her way down she scurries back in to my room as quick as she can and lies down near her cage as if to say "what do you mean? I was here the whole time!"

Holy crap Nikita O_O! If your landlord finds out, you have to pay a pet fee?! That is crazy. My current apartment has dog and cat owners paying a monthly fee and also some dog types are banned. I just think that dogs deserve a big yard and place to play in I asked about Chacha before my dad and I moved into our current apartment and we got away with not having to pay the monthly fee due to her being a 'caged animal,' which is utter complete bull

I just finished my Test on 'Assisting with Office/Ambulatory Surgery' and got an 87.5%! Woot! I didn't do so well on the last Test (some of the questions in that test were not even stuff I read in the book O_o) but I still passed it. I will take an 87 any day

As I was finishing up the test, I saw Chacha eat her cecal and make this WEIRD snort noise.. it almost sounded like a fart. After she did that, she went back into her loafing position and is currently sleeping next to me. o_O It totally caught me off guard, but she is fine.
