        Hi all,

Today while clipping Wesley’s nails I noticed that on his back right foot, the outside nail is sort of twisted in the wrong way.  Instead of having the natural “claw” shape facing forward like ( , it seems that the nail is twisted 180 degrees like ).  I felt the toe and it seems normal – not broken or twisted.

It doesn’t seem to affect his movement at all.  But I could not clip the nail – it was more flexible and soft than the others.

        Worthy of a vet visit?

        Thanks,

        Lindsay, Wesley and Bluebell

Does it seem to be bothering him at all? Is there any inflammation/redness around the toe nail?

He doesn’t react when I touch it, but it’s hard to see if there is any inflammation through all of the fur. It doesn’t feel swollen.

Mr. Hopper has one of those and my vet said to just make sure its trimmed and keep an eye on it to see if it bothered him. well he hasn’t had an issue and its been about 2 years. I would just have your vet take a look to be safe though.

Ditto that. If you can’t trim it, you will need the vet to trim it anyways so it doesn’t grow in on itself.
