what is the extension of your photos? You know for example .jpp or .gif or .png? Also what size are they? Usually you should get an error message if it's too large, but sometimes our album can be weird. Also, if you upload a photo that doesn't have a normal extension, it will sometimes do what you experiencing.

And just to be clear, you are trying to upload photos to your photo album? Is that right?
