Zoologist I've taught kids before from four to fourteen. But I'm going to be honest it has been so long since I taught such a young age group that I wonder how I'll do. Since I started my job as a tutor and have been working with adults I feel like I will forget that I'm not working with adults anymore when I transfer to teaching little ones. I honestly haven't decided what I want to teach. I'm so stuck between teaching English to high schoolers or middle schoolers or elementary. I guess I have to figure it out before the end of the year when I transfer.

Wow, English? Goooooooooooood luck! Can you teach them grammar? Please? I hate that I went to an expensive private school for high school where kids are getting 1500's on their SATs but they still don't know the difference between your/you're and there/their/they're. -_-

BLECHHHHHHH. I just cleaned up Finn's cage of bunny poo (still working on litter training) and was multi tasking heating up some food. I grabbed onto the food to make sure it was hot.... with my unwashed hands. Blech! ew! GROSS!

I used to tutor math/science for high school/college students, and while I enjoyed teaching I don't think I could do it for a living. Props to those that can though! We definitely need some good passionate teachers in our education system .

Oh dear...I originally had plans for this weekend with a few other people, but I just found out that everybody flaked except for myself and one other guy who have already bought tickets. Oh joy, awkwarddd. I hate situations like this haha.

It is beginning to feel like Fall here in the Pacific Northwest! The leaves are changing, I have to keep my window shut at night because it is cold, and it is time to switch from shorts to pajama bottoms! Also, did I mention that it is beautiful?

I have so much going on! I am doing a project with a classmate and we are splitting up topics to do research on. I have to research the common bone fractures and casting. I'm also cramming an Accounting project (That I am doing well in.. how surprising, lol) and 4 other classes worth of things. Good thing that some of the due dates are spread out.

For my Clinical class, we are all required to do Fecal Occult Blood testing. Haha, yeah, you are thinking what I am thinking. My teacher just wants us students to understand what the patient has to go through. I have no issue with it as it is part of my program, but my other classmates do. My teacher said "No, you may not bring a sample of your bunny's poo in for testing!" hahahahaha

Aw Bummer! Cos that would have been kinda cool to do.

Weird. I've never seen the word "occult" as a medical science term before. Huh. Learnt something new. : )

I'm currently a TA for an American Religion course (not my area at all, but one goes where one must...). They have their midterms next week. I've never felt so popular...

Zoologist -- you should have been on BB when the maintenance people came to check the water and change the air conditioning filters. I was a nervous wreck. Had the bunnies stashed in the closet and I was scared out of my mind they'd shake the cage in anger for being all caged up in a small cage with 3 bunnies. They were such perfect little guys. Didn't make a peep! I was so proud of them! And ewwww, Hahahaha. Sometimes I forget I'm picking up poos because their poos are soo.... just not pooey! LOL. If that makes sense....

Peppypoo -- that IS awkward. I, too, hate when situations like that arise.

Anyone watch the Presidential debate? One of my political friends just made the comment... "Debates are like the superbowls for dorks." Totally agree. We all pull out the Presidential Debate Drinking Game and it's like our favorite night of the year! LOL. I wish I were kidding.... It's shocking when even CNN acknowledges that Romney won the debate and Obama was on the defensive the WHOLE time... WHOOOP WHOOP. Romney needs this! (Don't worry -- I can handle people disagreeing with me so there's no political arguments!)... Just LOVE political and think it's insanely interesting, the Debate that is... Don't judge me too much guys!

Also, I had a dream that I found that book The Master and Margarita? And it turned into a nightmare... Because it turned out to be the book The Master and Margaritas TWO? LOL. I don't think that book even exists.. SUCHHHH a nerd.

There was a poster on FB for a drinking game when watching the debate. Like "chug your drink every time the candidate interrupts the moderator." Glad I didn't do it last night as I would have died, the number of times they both interrupted Jim Lehear.
I won't get into politics since I know people have very strong opinions and it can get ugly fast. But, to me, the debate is just entertaining. I already know who I'm voting for, always known, and it would take a full frontal lobotomy for me to vote for the other option.

tanlover: Hubby and I watched it, or at least most of it, I kept nodding off. We both agreed that Romney did better than Obama, which was kind of a shock to me, normally he has his foot in his mouth. How does your drinking game work? We came up with drinking every time one of the candidates says "Ronald Reagan", but I guess that only works with the republican debates (even though Obama said it once )

I can't find the one on the internet -- I found it on someones facebook but it was a good one! I googled them and there seems to be a MILLION of them that you can find!! ... but for all of you who LIKE politics ... or like making fun of politicians... Here's really funny parodys of the Presidential candidates to Gangnam Style -- hysterical!

I have to admit though, I think the Romney one is much more funny even though he has my vote. It's hysterical!

Oooo, politics. A touchy area for sure. I've been hiding a bunch of people on my newsfeed on Facebook because I don't agree with their views and they tend to be very uh, vocal.

I will be voting on the issues closest to me this election- social and environmental. The economics aspect goes over my head. I believe in equality and investing our money into clean energy so Romney does not have my vote in the slightest.

AHHHHHHHHHh, so much homework to do! I got one of the pieces of my Accounting project back and I had to make minor changes, however it took me an hour to fix up -_-;; I think I need a nap but I have so much that needs to be done o_O

Haha Longhairmike!

Oh my goodness Zoologist tell me about it. I had gone to a private school for Elementary and Middle school. The people I had gone to school with were from wealthy families and they knew how to speak English very well and had decent grammar. I transfered to a public high school for high school to save money for college. The English I encountered was...let's just say I had to learn a whole new form of 'English' in order to figure out what they were saying.

You crack me up Tanlover I can't stand politics. The bf and I had actually played video games through it and after it my bf's dad had to ask what we thought. We both looked at each other and were like, "...it was great?" I can't keep up with the crazy biased views that everyone has and I honestly don't have the umph to shift through the lies.

Hahaha Hazel I was going to ask the same question. =p Drinking games are always fun.

Yes, we need to keep the politics off BB.

In my personal life, I am a major political junkie (my FB friends can attest to this), but BB is not the place for discussions that *may* become divisive or argumentative. While the discussion hasn't been bad so far, it's just better to avoid this.

As always, members are free to PRIVATE MESSAGE each other if they would like to have discussions about this or any other topic.

(I'm not deleting the above comments, but BB has been emailed and she may choose to do some editing.)

Thanks for keeping it civil, guys! But as Chacha and Beka said, it's probably best to just keep it off the forums in general .

Skipper - in my opinion public schools really run the gamut. I've never attended a private school in my life, and with 18 years of public education (and counting...) I think I've been absolutely blessed to have attended quality schools. You're right though, some peoples' English...jeez! Especially here in the wonderful world of the Internet, haha.

Peppypoo I honestly think my mother sent me to private school to kind of ingrain and instill her religious views. I don't think it was a bad thing. A lot of my moral view points and who I have become have been shaped by the people I met there despite not necessarily believing everything I was taught. Also, it was to keep me out of the drug/violence filled public schools. I had grown up in a sort of rough area were the public schools around there weren't great. But I do have to agree with you though! Especially when it comes to the difference in education between states. When I moved to Florida to finish up my last couple of years high school I was shocked by how far behind they were in curriculum. Granted their spoken English was better. =p *Shrug* I don't know. I really wish that the public education system got the funding it deserved so that kids can be properly educated.

Forum Rules Section 2 - F
Light discussions and differing opinions about rabbit welfare is fine, but please refrain from getting into debates about God, Government, Animal Rights in general (e.g. like anti-vivisection- for science/medicine, rabbits as food, and about controversial highly charged subjects and groups) or any serious ethical debate.

Since it was brought up already, and I was late in getting here, some of the views are really intertwined in a lot of your posts, I will not go through and edit out the discussions. (Thank you for remaining civil). I just deleted the last post that was focused on politics only.

But as for going forward -- Political discussion to be ended here -- Don't make me hop over and thump you!

This book came in the mail for me today http://www.amazon.com/Seaside-Natur...naturalist and I'm super excited to browse through it! We used some of the examples for summer camp and I wished I coulda sat around all day and read it instead of doing activities with the kids, lol. Now I get my chance! Also next week I start my first class towards becoming a Florida Master Naturalist. I'm taking a 6 week course on Coastal Systems. I'm not sure if I have to take the other two courses (Upland Habitats and Freshwater Wetlands) to be considered a master naturalist, but when I'm through I'll be certified as a master naturalist in that one system. I also want to become a master naturalist in south carolina (my home state) and whatever state I end up in!

I haven't even posted in this thread yet! Sorry to revist an old topic on here xD But I just love dressing up like a jester and have done so for about 3 years now I change it up some every year, though this year it might be the same as last. Mostly because of expense & last year I had ordered a custom made 3 tail, 4ft long jester hat   But I throw some detailed zombie makeup in there so...zombie jester Unfortunately, now everyone knows I do the makeup well so every halloween night, I get stuck doing everyone's makeup -.- I might try to start everyone's makeup earlier and have a cut off time. I use glue, toilet paper & paint. For myself though, I like the look that oil paints give rather than the paint that is probably more safe for your skin haha. I might be participating in a haunted house but im not sure yet

Also, I finally got to let Mimzy out She was so excited to be out again since her spay. Although when I first opened her cage & had everything set out for her to play, she sat there & kinda looked at me as if to say "Don't be playin jokes on me hoomin" I spent her recovery fixing up and doing more bunny proofing. Then set up all her stuff. She has a large box for digging, a tunnel, a cat's hidey house & lots of little toys everywhere. Yup...my room has gone to the bunny!! I think the only thing I own in my room now is my bed and TV xD

Today, my dad found a little puppy at his shop, very skinny, collar, & fleas. He's very sweet! Extremely lovable but I thought it was strange how his collar looked very new, he was clean, but he was obviously too skinny, nails hadn't been trimmed in a while, & his collar was too tight. Also, he knows the command sit, looks about 4 months old. So I'm not sure how long he's been out

Here he is!

We're taking him to the vet tomorrow to see if he's chipped or not. And then just going to search for his owners for a couple days. If we can't find them, he's going to a new home!!

Definitely don't need 4 dogs in this house =/

LMAO, LongHairedMike -- I feel yah! LOVE SOUTH PARK!

Sorry, guys... I didn't actually realize it was against the rules but being a political person I can DEFINITELY see the point of such a rule... politics is definitely a subject that can turn nasty! I'll be sure to keep it off the forums from now on... once again, SORRY! <3 If you guys didn't see BullRiders post of his bun who is running for office in the October Picture Thread though, you should all check it out! Now... I think that's a candidate we can all agree on! Binky Bunnies for HOOMAN out there so they all become Bunny Slaves!

LBJ -- I, too, DETEST Honey Boo Boo!

"Don't make me hop over and thump you" Hahahaha. Loveee ittttt.

Zoologist and LBJ -- What's a master naturalist? And how do you volunteer for such a thing? I've never even heard of that! *pokes head back under rock I must live under..*

Mimzy -- that's how my little brats were after their spay/neuter! And that puppy -- he's gorgeous! I want him! Hope he finds his home...

Soooo... my boyfriend and I decided to do a murder mystery party at our house for Halloween! This is the one we're doing ---

http://www.murderatthejuicejoint.com/

It's a murder mystery set in the 20's (Mob STYLE!) WHOOP. So excited for it! Guess I know what I'm going to be for Halloween now! A FLAPPER! Hahahah.

Also, ChaCha I'm pretty sure I saw you on Oxbow's Facebook! I commented on the same post as you (I think)? The one about fall festivities?
