All of mine adored sweet basil as babies and still love it now. Nasturtiums too but it's probably a bit late in yur area for those. Wild fennel is good if you have it about. But I definitely think a couple of weeks of formula supplement for the runt would be a good idea if you can't manually put her to the front of Mummy Milkbar, like I did with Pepper and her oops litter. What colour is the little one, if its different from the others maybe it will be a different blend. Pepper produced two erzatz Silver Martins, a blue and an apricot angora with hers, Nermal, Pipi and Blossom are all different sizes. Blossom being the biggest like her Father and Nermal smaller like her Mother.

MODS - Can I post a pic of the "Litter" tray (My buns as babies all mooshed together for nap time) for NikkitaSue to compare?

Roberta what sort of formula supplement would you suggest using? (Asking because curious.)

So I have decided that I have been living in Florida for too long. xD Because of Hurricane Sandy the weather here has been reallyyyyyy cold. I've been shivering nonstop when I'm not at home with a blanket wrapped around me. =p I no longer have cold tolerance because of living in the warm climate of Florida. It's sufficient to say that I'm breaking out the UGG boots to wear tomorrow to school/work. =]

Nikita my heart goes out to your little runt. I have such a soft spot for runts. My Haru (cat) was a runt who we had to bottle feed.

Hi Skippers Mama,
There's several available, some specifically for small animals and rabbits. The best idea would be to ring the vet or pet suppliers locally to see what they have available as ordering online and waiting for delivery is not an option in this instance. Some of the others might have preferences that they have used in the past.

Hi NikkitaSue,
Just wondering if we would be better moving the conversation to diet and care, that way we might get some more people with suggestions.
Skippers Mama, going to have a look online and see whats on offer. We don't have access to many of the products in the US.

NB Looks like a lot of people use a goats milk formula mix... Not sure how appropriate that would be for a bun thats almost weaned. I think a call to the vet and ask which is available and the most appropriate for the situation.

The vets I know, and the humane society here, use a kitten replacement milk. It seems to work great for little baby buns

I'm so pulling for this little runty! <3 I also have a big heart for runts of the litter. We had an oops litter of kittens when I was little and we had to bottle-feed them all since the mother died a day after the delivery of the babies. We thought for sure the runt wasn't going to make it but she pulled through and ended up being a small girl but bossed EVERYONE else around as they got older. Hahaha. Her name was Baby and she looked like a buttercup while all the rest looked pure Tiger cat. She was adorable. With spots instead of stripes like the rest.

So this weekend is my Murder Mystery party -- 1920's Mob Style -- and of course, my boyfriend put me in charge of decorating. I'm having such a difficult time coming up with stuff! I made a thing to put on the front door which looks really neat and says "the JUICE JOINT" on it with pictures of liquor bottles around the edge. And I'm buying some boxes and trying to figure out how to turn them into looking like crates! I'm also going to try and hit up a bar tonight and see if they have any extra empty liquor bottles they could give me to put in the boxes so they look full of liquor! With maybe some shredded paper inside the box to set the liquor bottle in. As for that, I'm totally lost about anything else. Any ideas you crafty ones on BB?

Thanks, Malp. I'll have to call and find out. Hopefully they can do the night before because I really don't wanna spend from 6-9am trying to get my bun to pee.

I'm currently reading the last chapter out of my "Medical Law and Ethics," textbook. It is titled "Death and Dying." I haven't cried so much reading a stinkin textbook in my life. The findings are incredibly sad and it rips my heart apart.

My teacher for my Clinical Class is driving me and some other classmates crazy. She just goes through the motions really fast, reads from the damn book and does not elaborate on it, and tells me to wear a headband even though my hair is ridiculously short. All that I can say is that I can't wait to get my summer quarter teacher back for next clinical -_- He was hard on us students, but he was very specific and detailed. Sigh.

Chacha bun went Trick or Treating for Craisins this morning She got 3. Sue me

Now I want to watch "The Nightmare before Xmas."

Roberta thanks! I find animal care really interesting. I guess I want to make sure I'm prepared.

Tanlover that sounds like so much fun!!! I hope it goes off alright. I would have to think about decorating ideas. Have you thought of putting some celophane over the lighting in the house to give it a glow? When I think of 1920s I think of ambient light.

LoveChaCha I hate teachers like that. >.< That's such a cute idea for ChaCha! I might have to steal the idea for Skipper. xP And you MUST watch Nightmare Before Christmas. It's a mandatory watch for the bf and I during Halloween and Christmas. =]

Gah! It's November tomorrow! I'm flipping out. Skipper gets her spay done on the 20th and I'm such a worrywart. I don't mean to but my nerves always get the better of me when it comes to my little ones. Thankfully none of my pets have ever been as up and down in their health as Skipper. I've been banging my head because of my Statistics class. My teacher canceled class on Tuesday and in lieu of having class she posted a pencast. A lot of people like the pencast lesson but it just makes me fall asleep. I can't keep my eyes open and watch the lesson for the life of me.

The runt is a completly different color. The three others are white and gray and their huge and they got big heads and the runt is all black and looks just like oreo and has a different looking head. like its scrunched up or something.I can try to supplement some formula. I might be able to find something. Is it really possible that oreo could have a baby who is a different breed.

Hi Nikkitasue,
Whilst Piglet looks like a pure french angora and Pepper just like a silver martin, they produced a mixed bunch. Apparently that is where silver martins came from. They were a surprise package in angora and cashmere litters and were so attractive they became a breed. So if Oreo has some history in her bloodline it is entirely possible she could produce a baby with characteristics from a different breed. Do you know who or what Daddy bun is ?

Here's some pics of Peppers bubs to give you an idea of diversity

Photobucket

That's Paris in the middle (as her Forever slave calls her) with Nermal on the left and I think that is Rebel making an appearance from the rear. Of course that is Pepper on the right.

Photobucket

That's young Teddy who went to a lovely home and is being spoiled rotten by all.

Photobucket

and little Buddy looking exactly like his mummy Pepper at that age.

Trying to avoid posting any of the really cute baby pics so I don't violate the forum rules.

They are both mostly dutch. But for some reason most of the litter doesn't show it. Thump is a little bigger though but I just figured that he doesn't have the dwarf gene and oreo does cause she is smaller.

If htey are a mixed breed, any of the breeds mixed in could appear in the babies. Even if its waaaaay down the family tree.
