Deep breaths. :p

I guess I've had a little head start in getting used to the idea it's October, but I hate we're at this end of this year already!

Good news here: the weather has finally dropped from the 90s to the 80s and even 70s. When it isn't raining. I went for 1st nature walk of the season this weekend.
Bad news here: It's Season. 3-4 months of tourist madness and horrible drivers, followed by abrupt unemployment for the locals. Sigh.

It's pouring rain here and cold right now If it keeps like this we will definitely have snow before Halloween... so depressing

I'm so exhausted today it's not even funny! I work Monday-Saturday as it is, between my two jobs and on Saturday I got stuck working for 17 hours straight with only a 15 minute lunch :| I've worked long days before, but that was to a whole new level. We were on emerg, at the clinic, and once school starts we aren't usually busy again until Thanksgiving (which is next weekend, in Canada). But I swear anything that could go wrong did, and it was just insanely stressful. The only upside is that my animals missed me, so they were extra lovey the poor rabbits got their dinner 7 hours late and I went straight home and passed out and my cat cuddled up beside me for 10 hours while I was dead to the world.

And now, with only one day off, I'm back at work, at my office job. Everything is quiet here so I'm hoping I can get away with being the walking dead today SHHHH

It's been really cold here too but I don't think we'll get snow... yet!

I like that it's October in the sense of I like fall things- apples, pumpkins, changing leaves, not burning-hot weather. And it means the semester is progressing.

I don't like it because I'm not ready for winter yet!!! Or my sister's wedding :/

I have an HIV/AIDS Education class and we students have to post to a discussion board. I posted one of the early theories of what people thought HIV/AIDS came from when it first occurred in the United States. One of my classmates replied and got angry saying that HIV/AIDS is not only passed by man to man, but to women and children. Uh, I do know that, however, I am just stating what I know and what people had THOUGHT back then. This person is a guy that who knows everything. I sometimes think that he should be a doctor sometimes by how much he knows. I do know that anyone can get AIDS, however the fact that he not only misread my post, but attacked me with EXCLAMATION MARKS in this reply made me pissed. So I asked him if he read my post carefully, because I posted an early theory of how people thought about AIDS, NOT that how that is the only way of transmission.

Sorry, I just needed to vent. People just.. UGHHHHHHHHHHHHH

*pulls hair out!*

Today is my Friday at work and I look forward to it being done and over with. One of the previous Assistant Managers is coming back to work as a Person in Charge (helps out cashiers when they need it)! She is FABULOUS and I cried when she left She is that type of person that takes care of you and you enjoy talking to because they make you feel at home even when you hate work.. LOL! This is the woman that gave me a whole bag of romaine lettuce last summer for Chacha! It was totally not expected!

Oi! Today is the first of October and I didn't even realize it. Silly me for responding in the September chat! xD I really cannot understand Florida weather. It confuses the living day lights out of me. Yesterday it started raining when it was perfectly sunny. And this morning it was so hot I would have thought we were in the middle of August. Not just ten minutes ago it started to get really stormy looking outside and began to pour. I just don't understand it. >.<

ChaCha people like that annoy the living piss out of me. I can have quite a temper sometimes and when people act like that it makes me want to reach over and give them a good smack in the face.

Cinnabun I'm right there with you! That is one of my favorite movies! Tim Burton is mad genius.

AUUGGHHH Peppy is driving me nuts today. I don't know what's gotten into her, but she's on a carpet spree! She's been hopping around my apartment all morning, nose to the ground, looking for bits of carpet to pull out. I woke up at 7am to the sound of carpet being ripped out, and got out of bed to cover the spot. Then 30 seconds later...same thing. After almost an hour of this I was fed up so I took her carrier out, put some hay/water in it, and locked Peppy inside for a couple of hours while I went back to sleep. Kind of felt bad since it's a small space, but she no longer has a cage and it's exam week so I really needed my rest.

Sigh, now she's at it again. Come on silly bunny, it's 2pm and time for you to go take your nap so I can study...please!! They're so frustrating sometimes...

Bosse will hardly ever play with me since he got his condo. He's just chilling in there pretty much all day he gets out for like 5 minutes, gets pets, and then goes either back in, or goes to his little nic cage hidey hut I made for him with leftover cubes. I miss my little buddy (

SkippersMama -- Hahahaha, totally! My boyfriend and friends ALL laugh about what a rabbit freak I am! I can't help it though. I feel like they're so fragile that I just always have to be prepared!! And those Ziplock bags are annoying! We bought some to store all our veggies in too. And ended up just giving up on them... You literally had to pump like 10 minutes straight for like 1 bag.

Svandis -- Awwwww, he'll start to miss you! All 3 of mine were just like that when we built their condo but now they're always banging on their doors to come out. Everyone needs a place to be "theres" and I think that's what they love about it. They never get in trouble in there and can just tear apart whatever they find.

The buns have been going through SOOOO much hay since we limited their pellets. Roughly a pound a day between all 3. LOL. So we were forced to stop buying the small Oxbow bags of hay and had to order the 9 lbs of Orchard Grass. It's hard to figure out how that tiny of an animal can eat soo much! I swear I'm always refilling their hay hangers! We had to hang two on the side of their condos because filling up their litter boxes just wasn't enough anymore.

Peppypoo -- I definitely feel your pain! But lucky for me, they go right back into the cage! If mine were free-roam... *shudders*

Tanlover, they do eat a ton of hay lol my two get the giant bales for horses and i'm always surprised by how fast they go through the purple tub I fill up for them from it. Bottomless pits of hay eating.

I turn 26 this month, ack. I try to read my teenage cousins FB posts and I don't understand half of what they say. I feel old. lol

Hope everybun is doing well this month.

Yay October!! Can't wait for November when I get to pick up my new baby bunny!! I wish I knew for sure that we'll get one so I could start buying a bunch of bunny stuff The breeder was supposed to take some pictures on the weekend but so far I got nothing, I hope she didn't forget

Stickerbunny, we are almost the same age, so you aren't the only senior here  I don't even bother with facebook, or twitter, or smartphones... lol, I just want one of those big button old people dumbphones and for the kids to stay off our lawn!!!

tanlover, it's great that they eat so much hay! I guess there's no way for you to get a bale of hay somewhere? That should be cheaper, I can get one for $7 or so.

Svandis, don't worry, the new will wear off and he'll come out to bug you and get into trouble in no time!

Happy October every one!

Skipper, I'm right there with you about the weather! I was low 80's yesterday so some friends and I spent the day at the springs laying out and swimming in the cool water (constantly 72* and crystal clear for those who don't know!)

I got an interesting text from a friend of mine the other day. She offered me one of her rabbits. We both have zoos in our houses, and she says she has too many mouths and wouldn't mind downsizing. What's interesting is she's offering me the bunny that originally got me into rabbits. I got Tofu because she got to the other one first (mutual friend was offering it up on facebook). I don't know what to do. On one hand I would really love to adopt this little lop eared girl! On another hand I don't know if it's too soon. When I thought of adopting another rabbit I wanted one who was already neutered/spayed and littertrained. This baby is neither. She's still small though.... about the size of a florida avocado, and apparently insanely sweet. Opinions?

In other news I was voted Captain of my roller derby's home team. A very big honor! I am taking a map making class this semester. I thought I would hate it, but now I really want to go and get the most of it because how cool would it be to tell people that I can make maps? lol

Hazel, we'd LOVE if we could get a bale of hay -- but we currently live in a condo complex that doesn't allow animals.  I think we'd have a rather hard time of sneaking in a huge bale of hay along with having a small closet that we keep all the buns stuff in.  We would def have to do some rearranging but if we had ideas on how to sneak it in we would probably do it.  We calculated how much the cost would be on how much they are going through of oat hay (they only have small sizes in Oxbow) and what we buy and it came out to $150 a month, phew.  So the poor buns are being forced to switch back to Orchard Grass which comes in larger sizes with Oxbow (we buy pretty much all of our bunny stuff Oxbow).  My BF turned out to be allergic to Timothy so our buns had to be switched off that too!  Oy Vey.  I wasn't sure how easy it would be either to find barns or places that sell anything besides Timothy but then again... I've never really looked.  I'm from Pittsburgh though so I'm not sure how far we'd even have to drive to find a bale!

Zoologist -- My opinion is that maybe you should go over and spend some time with the bun AND THEN see what you think!  Sometimes buns and people just CLICK but if not, then I would suggest waiting and finding one that really suits your needs and what you're looking for.  Congrats on being voted Captain!

Stickerbunny, I just turned 24 so I'm not very far behind you guys!  I do the same thing now with the FB posts and I swear I think seniors in high school still look like they're in 7th grade!

Arghhhh!!  I'm going to go nuts if the BB store doesn't get the I-Clicker in soon!  I'm DYING to start working with my crazy energetic boy bun who is having some behavioral issues!  I've been reading a lot up on it and I'm really excited to start!

I think it's a sign that I'm getting really old with all these weather things...or maybe I've just been enjoying the little things in life more than usual lately.  I was walking home from work today and really enjoyed the slight breeze and the leaves all over the ground..  And just the other week I was enjoying the thunder storms we kept having (which is strange because I typically have always despised the rain!).

We had snow yesterday. It didn't stick but brrrrrrrr...... >_<
My son will be having his wisdom teeth out on friday and I have a punch biopsy because of an odd mole change on my chest tomorrow. My youngest cat may be in the early stages of CRF and Mimzy still has a 90 degree head tilt...but he seems well within himself regardless.

Other things going on in my family that I won't go into here...just suffice it to say that stress is high.
I'll be glad to be saying goodbye to 2012 in a few months. Going to try to enjoy the remainder of the year regardless. Wishing us all better times ahead! (((((((((Hugs all around)))))))))
Mimzy, Pip & Fiver...yup...my day is all about them. :)

ChaCha - I hate those types of discussions. It seems like people misinterpret and jump to conclusions a lot. I hate know-it-alls too. Here is something interesting for you though. In anthropology, we learned that a small percentage of people are immune. It has to do with having two copies of a particular allele. It occurs in people who's ancestors survived the plague. Anyway, the gene makes it so the immune system cannot be "tricked" by the virus. The virus tricks the immune system in much the same way the plague does.

During that same year, competing scientific groups made a series of discoveries that could open a new chapter in treating -- and preventing -- infection by the lethal organism. For the first time, the treatments would be aimed not at the virus itself, but at a portal through which HIV enters white blood cells and attacks the immune system.

Scientists in 1996 identified the portal: It was a large protein called Chemokine Receptor 5, or CCR-5, which is a normal part of the cell produced by a gene having the same name.

When this gene is mutates, it produces the protein incorrectly. In fact, when people inherit two copies of the mutant CCR-5 gene, the cell fails to make the portal protein at all. It simply does not exist, and the cell is like a house with no front door.

zoologist - I would go spend time with the bun. You never know, it might be love at first sight.

I was SO excited last night. I got to hold an owl last night and she really seemed to like me. I was a bit annoyed though. This was an outreach thing and there were families there. The kids kept asking if they could pet "my bird". We're not supposed to let people pet her so I said no, she might get scared with little hands coming at her. Problem solved. The issue was the parents. Several of them just walked up and tried to touch her! Didn't asked or anything.

Tanlover and Hazel - I bet you're right

I caught up on some of the curriculum today. Have my first exam in November already, and I do not feel ready. I'm studying psychology and so far it has all been about biological development, neuro science and more psysiopsychology than anything else = not very exiting. I'm not good with scientific subjects. However when this exam is finished, we are starting up on mental illnesses, psychological traumas etc. That will be very exciting!

Svandis I had a really hard time with Intro to Psych when I took it because it was all new concepts and a bunch of stuff to memorize. I ended up drawing tons of crazy pictures to help me remember the synapses, re-uptake processes, etc. It's so bad though because I can't remember any of it now! xD

Zoologist That map class sounds awesome! Where do you go UCF? They have this basket weaving class at USF and we always joke that they're going to turn the class into an underwater basket weaving class to make it more challenging. =p USF has some crazy odd classes. Hahahaha.

So Skipper has decided she wants to be a little terror lately. This morning I had Skippy out and I keep a sliding door to another room closed so she can't go in there and mess things up in there because it's not bunny proofed. The door must have been open a smidge and she decided she wanted to try to squeeze her way out because I was cleaning her cage and had the vacuum going (to suck up the hay she threw around). All I could hear was this odd rattling noise. I thought it was something that that the vacuum had sucked up. But I turned around for a second just in case to make sure it wasn't Skipper. Sure enough she was trying to squeeze her head through the crack and scratched at the opening. She didn't know I was watching and kept at her antics. The minute I shut off the vacuum to stop her, she turns around and gives me this look like, "But Ma I wasn't doing anything wrong". Of course she was caught so I called her and she came running up to kiss up to me. xD It made me laugh because for a while I thought she didn't know her name. NOPE she just ignores me! Hahaha!

Svandis - are you majoring in psychology in school/do you want to work in psychology in the future? I remember taking all those psychology courses..the neuroscience can be pretty confusing but it helps a lot when you get to the "interesting stuff" .

Mimz - wow, best wishes for everything going on! I hope all turns out for the best.

Haha I'm 23 right now..does that count as mid-20's? Weird! I don't feel like it...

What is everybody dressing up as for Halloween? Time to start thinking about those costumes! I'm probably going to re-use a costume from college and go as Yoshi, since nobody at my current school saw it haha. It's just a Yoshi plush hat with kelly green shorts, leggings, and t-shirt on which I sewed a white belly and red shell/saddle on the back.

Skippers Mama - Yeah, I try to draw up some of the information to memorize better, and so far it has worked, but only so much haha.
We'll see how everything goes. I need to stop spending so much time here on BB but I can't help it haha!
And haha Skipper is just adoreable!

Peppypoo - I'm taking a one year class in psychology, which counts as the first year of a bachellor if I want to continue studying psychology I haven't really decided yet if it is what i really want to work with, but I've always found psychology very very interesting. If I get through this year with okay grades and I still feel interested, I'm going to try and make it into a carreer.
