hey guys.. Yeti broke his toe nail... i dont know how or when.. he was really digging this morning in his cage and woke me up at 5am with all the scratching which he never does so once i hauled my butt out of bed at 530 to check he stopped.. he started back up again at 7 so i grabbed him to clip his nails a bit (i did his full once over and groom about 3 weeks ago) but i thought maybe i hadnt trimmed his nails far enough.. when i got to his second front foot his "pinky toe nail" is snapped off.. there's a small amount of dried blood and hes not bleeding anymore.. hes showing no signs of pain whilst hopping around and hes being his usual pain in the rear now that hes out of his condo. should i be concerned?
his toe isnt broken and the nail hasnt been fully ripped out or anything...
i dont know if i should take him in.. he isnt insured yet so its quite expensive...
should i take him to our vet? or should i just keep an eye on him?
has this happened to anyone else?
how do i know if its infected? will it ooze or something? im so not impressed with myself for not knowing when this happened and what im suppose to do/look for.,
